  Ex-Witness singles?

  you know, i'm somewhat shocked that there's no kind of singles area of the site.

  how great would it be (for me, at least) to find a great ex-witness lady?

  i guess no one is too worried about it though.

  um lets see how can i put this nicely. i dont know you personally enough to say what kind of guy you are but i checked out the link you gave me and boy what a major turn off that was. i was thinking before 'hey he sounds like a nice guy' and then after seeing that i was like 'man can you believe the arrogance of this jerk'. i'm just telling you how 'I' felt as a woman reading that.

  I, er, see. :-) Well, I don't know what in the world could possibly be arrogant about what you saw. I'm far from arrogant -- really. I mean, all I did was explain what I like. And I'm HARDLY a jerk! I respect your viewpoint and opinion, though; but I'm not nuts that you posted this veritable tirade publicly -- totally not cool.

  maybe its just me, but the whole personal advertisement thing really turns me off towards people. to me, a relationship is something that should develop naturally and not something that should be like a job interview or something. i mean geez.

  It's just you. Just kidding! I'm not a big fan of the "advertisement" approach either, but I'm also not willing to enter into any kind of relationship (friendship or more) without knowing that there are some fundamental similarities at play. I don't have time to waste on a relationship whose basic intrastructure is flawed. Thus, I have that profile there as something of an introduction page. If someone's turned off by it, oh well -- obviously she's not for me.

  Obviously, something raised your bristles (though I honestly can't imagine what). The whole thing is a "this is what I like to do, these are my favorite types of music, I like The Simpsons" sort of things. I think your reaction, while valid, was overkill. There's absolutely nothing so vile there. If you disagree, e-mail me for I'd like to hear what specifically was so evil. (O_o)

  Dungbeetle says that the Society said: Tho we may change our doctirne slightly becasue of new/brighter light, we have NEVER gone back to a former/old doctrine...

  When in the world of worlds did they say this?! I know they've gone backwards about the organ transplants. What else? (I'm learning so much!)

  what would you say if a close friend was to come to you and say: "i've secretly been studying with jehovah's witnesses and i plan to join their organization.

  i know how you feel about the witnesses, but i truly feel that they are god's chosen organization.

  i don't really want to hear anything negative about the society, but out of respect for our friendship, i'll let you briefly mention one reason why i shouldn't.

  Hi, Flower. ^_^;; I'm a single student in the southern U.S. I'm a 24-year-old hoping to run into a Miss Right at some point in life, and it'd be great if she was an ex-JW too (though I'm not exactly "ex" yet).   hey, folks.

  just curious: did any of you ever deface your magazines?

  i had a friend growing up in the congregation and, kids that we were, we'd snap up our new watchtowers and awakes and we'd draw our own captions for the pictures, usually with hilarious results.

  My parents would have killed me for doing such a thing! You guys must have had truly lenient parents. Or didn't they know what you were doing?

  Well, my friend's parents knew, but they were lenient in the sense that they didn't really care. They'd only say something occasionally and often for appearance's sake. We didn't dare do it with MY parents around though. My mother could've looked at us and killed us on the spot. (Perhaps the ground would've opened up and swallowed us!)

I had a friend growing up in the congregation and, kids that we were, we'd snap up our new Watchtowers and Awakes and we'd draw our own captions for the pictures, usually with hilarious results. (This would get us in trouble during the WT study!) We'd also, of course, draw moustaches and silly glasses. Boy, haven't done THAT in a while. ;-)

  JW Rules That Are Just "Too Much"!
