Dumbest Awake Title Ever?
by metatron ini hold in my hand the nov. awake magazine entitled "technology - blessing or curse?"..
now, i understand the need for balance and moderation in using technology, as the magazine says - but could they come up with a more intelligent sounding title?
it makes the question sound as if abandoning technology might be a solution, a considered choice, a real possibility.

What if those df'd......could they?
by angel eyes ini've recently seen that some teaching have changed.
so my question is, if someone was df'd for instance for divorcing there partner for having gay relations and this was years ago when there wasnt grounds for it, so they were df'd, if now because the understanding has changed, could they appeal and be reinstated with a public apology?.

Thank you for your advice. Your reply in essence is saying, "trust God and he'll answer you". Well from my point of view it'd be better if he answered me first then I might be able to trust him - do you see what I mean?

Thanks for the quote, especially the last sentence - definately food for thought!
Narkissos
Thank you for relating your experience with this. Did you really think God lead people in opposite directions? Wow, thats quite a thought isn't it?
If thats a possibility, then I can't really generalise my dilemma with just 3 options. Every individual and situation is different and (if what you surmise is correct) God acts according to those individual circumstances even leading them to experience what ultimately turns out to be false, and then, when the time is right, leads them out.
I truly feel I was led out of the WT Society. Still to this day I can't explain how scripture after scripture would come to my mind and completely demolish some "truth" I thought was set in stone. 144,000, 1914, 2 classes of christians etc. It all happened so quickly too, in a matter of a few days, my belief system had been dismantled and my eyes opened, just be re-reading certain scriptures that I thought I knew so well. Yet I wasn't seeking to prove JW's wrong, I just was reading the bible without "watchtowerizing" the text.
So perhaps God did lead me in - and when the time was right for me, led me out too. Hmmm, something I gotta chew over. Thanks again for your input.

Hi all and thank you for your varied responses. I must admit that the "it was a coincidence" option still sits as the most logical for me but I also take on board what Snowbird and Chalam have stated. It could be God allowing the Witnesses to call just at that moment as a way of leading me to this point, but the affects of that knock on the door didn't just adversely influence me but also my husband, our 4 kids, the relationship with my siblings, my in-laws and my parents. Would God really have manouvered such a long-winded lesson involving so many people just so I can learn from the experience and help others?
Somehow it just doens't sit right that God would do that especially as the whole experience has turned my hubby and kids completely away from religion. They won't touch it with a bargepole.
So I'm now thinking, if the coincidence option is the right one, why didn't God answer my prayer at all? If He wasn't involved in the fateful knock on the door, why not? After all, I had prayed for help and support, I was already a christian and had faith and I needed Him right then. Why didn't God answer me?
I guess I'm really having trouble with my faith until I can get some straight answers. As Alltimejeff aptly said recently on another thread, " God better start showing up!".
Judge Dread: You really think Satan can hear prayers? Do you think the bad guy sent them to my door? Can you give me any scriptures that show this as a possibility as I can't think of any myself.
Nelly136: Hiya. Yep we eat before the video and discussion. I still haven't made up my mind whether to go tomorrow night or not.
