  Jehovahs witness men who trade old wives in for new....

  how prevalent was this in your area?

  jw man in good standing, elders, ministerial servants, all levels, i have seen them trade off their old wife and marry a younger woman.

  they might get df'd for a year or so but eventually return and get all their priveleges back , only difference is they have a new woman on their arm.. the old wife usually has to move to another kingdom hall or accept the new couple being in her face all the time.

  If everyone here is honest with themselves this should come as ZERO surprise considering, when you're raised a JW and are blessed/cursed with a sex drive, there are two options. Get married young (when you don't even know yourself much less anyone else) or get into trouble.

  In my case I found myself at 30 getting out of a 10 year marriage I never should have entered into. I have remarried and am happier than I've ever been and here's the rub, she's almost 6 years older than I am. So it's not always younger women, it's just new women. Let's also not forget there are myriads of unhappily married witness women who do the same thing.

  The fact that men are attracted to young attractive women should be no surprise as this has been happening since the dawn of time. If you still believe in the bible, angels had the same affliction.

  My daughter had a showdown with her aunt

  my daughter's aunt (my x sil, and a jw) moved into my daughter's neigborhood recently.

  she has had nothing to do with my daughter in over 15 years.

  my daughter was never baptized, but her aunt chose to basically ignore her existence for all these years.

  Good luck with your daughter and remind her that bullies are all the same. Smack them in the mouth (literally or figuratively) and they back off.

  I think if she informed her aunt that she'll beat the living daylights out of her the next time she steps foot on her property, she'd stay away. If not it'd be a gratifying beat down to deliver legally to a numbskull JW and would deliver quite the message that your daughter is not one to be f*cked with.

  I had a persistent 'brother' that didn't get the message after 3-4 unannounced visits, the last time he got an elbow to the temple. Never heard from ANYONE again.

  what kind of scandals have you heard about within the society?

  i mean ones that seem at least valid.

  there is a congregation close to me that had a number of the members df'd (including some elders and ms) due to wife swapping.

  Too many to count but I do remember back in the 80's the entire body of elders being removed from the Del Mar (San Diego) Congo. That was interesting.

  Thanks for all the kind welcome notes folks.

  Glad to be here and I hope I can help others through their tough times evolving into fully concious beings.

  I have a dear friend that's been tormented by guilt for almost 30 years by not being a witness, when she was only active for less than 5 years (15-20). We talked for nearly 4 hours on Christmas and it just reinforced how damaging this cult is and how much havoc it wreaks on so many for so long.

  Not that I've exorcised all my personal demons and have everything worked out, but making progress is enough for me.

  Good mental and physical health to all.

  I attended the hall near downtown CDA from August 95 to October 96. It's been so long since I was there. I don't remember too many folks since I wasn't active all that long in that area.

  I remember Ed & Janine Lopez and Dan & Bee Jaeger. Dan and I fly fished a ton and Ed & I hunted a fair bit. Most of the legions of Jdub's I remember were from Utah and SoCal.

  Hey All,

  New member here. I've been on the site a few times since my wife looked up a bunch of ex-J Dub stuff (she's an ex herself).

  Anywho, my abreviated story....

  Born in Los Angeles to still active witnesses. Dad's has been partaking as one of the annointed since before I can remember. Moved to small town Utah (Pleasant Grove) when I was 7 to serve where "the need was great".

  Being a half white/half hispanic JW made me quite the hit with my teachers and classmates, especially since Mormon school prayer was just as much part of the daily routine as the flag salute was.

  We stayed there for nine years with my dad giving many many public talks all over the state as well as large parts in District Assemblies in Denver and Utah.

  Moved to San Diego in '83 when I was 16, got married by 20 and stayed in Diego until I was 28. Moved to North Idaho, got divorced and left being a witness two years later in one fell swoop.

  Moved back to San Diego, met up with my current wife, who I'd met when my family moved to San Diego in '83 and we've been married since 2001.

  Moved to Oregon almost 5 years ago and am happier than I ever thought I'd be in this life.

  In my time I'd say I probably knew 1000's if not 10,000's of witnesses. It's been an incredibly long strange trip and it's hard to believe it's been over 10 years since I left.

  There's a lot more but I dont' have time to write a novel at the moment.
