I guess it's all about how
Science and religions fill the blanks (nobody is supposed to believe what is improvable YET) since you do believe in blank filling with not proof you are trusting someone (a human being - in other word a scientist is not God each have their own speciallity and they do not agree on everything either)Spirituality is not a religion - But religions use spirituality in the right or the wrong way (that's when in spirituality you have to understand where religious people had filled the blanks from what they have been inspired in there own time whith they're own knowledges). Spîrituality is about to catch what is essential in life in time (and to understand that everything is contextual). A bold statement can be wrong as it can be right (depends on what we are talking about in the details).
In other word religions are as limited as sciences (what they can deal with in the matter at their own stage) when spirituality is totally open to whatever have it's importance in context.

The vote is in: SCIENCE vs RELIGION......who won?
by Terry inhistory has demonstrated:.
religion is following orders by implicitly trusting someone or something.. science asks questions.. religion purports to answer questions.. science seeks to disprove its own conclusions.. religion seeks to reinforce its own dogma.. science is error-correction toward adjusting for realities as they unfold.. religion internalizes against reality by mocking up a substitute.. science is the most recent development of the human mind.
technology proves science to be successful in advancing human progress.. religion disdains human progress and waits for the end.

Fun at the book study
by Zico ini know what you're thinking.
how can you possibly have fun at the book study?
well, it's easy to have fun with the revelation book, it's so full of forced interpretations and massive holes, you can just rip it apart (subtly, of course) it's also much easier to question things in a smaller group.

Let's Give AudeSapere a Great Big Hug
by FreeChick inas many of you know, audesapere (denise) had reconstructive knee surgery last wednesday.
the surgery ended up being quite a bit more involved then she originally anticipated.
she has approximately 5 more weeks walking with crutches and then i believe she will continue with physical therapy.. denise made it through the first several days post-op like a trooper!

Independent Thinking
by Jeffro ini decided to do a search of the watchtower library cd on the phrase 'independent thinking'.
only three times is it ever spoken of as being a good thing.
and those three instances are quite telling about the insidiousness of all of the other times that jw publications consider independent thinking to be such a bad thing.. .

Please Jeffro can you (out of you CD) give me a bunch of other their litterature which associate "independant thinking" with apostasy and demonisme ?.

I know sometime you feel helpless ... But you tried (you didn't think : I don't care) ... it gives our own life an other perspective (still it doesn't feel really better, we just feel lucky).
But still it's weird when someone that looks really in trouble don't want or refuse many kind of help and whatever you say tells you it won't work for him/her (my last one that's a few month ago was a 19 years girl - very beautifful - I still wonder about her - her hair cut in a weird way, all messy clothed ... ). -

Sometimes i miss talking to God
by dobbie inalthough i now no longer truly believe in god ( i now neither believe or disbelieve anything about anything, its easier that way), there have been some very low times lately where i have started to actually pray and quickly stopped myself.
although i didn't ever pray v often i did used to find that if i had something troubling me or was upset then praying used to leave me feeling so much calmer afterwards about things.
i realise i actually miss being able to do that as now i have no way of feeling better over sad things or whatever may be troubling me.

You know what?
I feel like I pray to God everytime I've got a feeling ... praying don't have to be a religious practice ... it's a natural thing (even when you pray religiously you still think about what you're going to say) nothing is more sincere than a feeling/emotion a wish ... you don't really have to believe since it's a natural thing you just do it without even notice it.
- You know when you feel like to say 'Thanks God" or HOURRAY when your happy because you're happy about something
- or "Oh my God" or "Oh My" when something really move you (bad or good)
- or "RRRRRRRRR" - "Argh" or "Shit" when something bother you
about others or yourself ...
That's all prayers to me ...
