what is more holy than true love?
Well maybe I would say pure love instead of true love (anybody can love bad things like being mean)
That's why to me (spiritually talking) this
"Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven".
Means when we are persistante in spiting on pure love in being mean ... it's unforgivable. (I say persistante, because we change along the time and we have to experience ours and others bad sides, in the hope we/they won't love it and will regret).
Now that's what I do considere being (God's wisdom = Christ = the spirit of the wisdom about everything) - experience is the mean to explore our feelings and make choices.
When we know we are mean or acting mean (even for good reasons) - we are spiting on the "hollyiest" spirit.

I'm an atheist, so why does some religious music move me so much?
by nicolaou ini often find myself playing george harrison's 'my sweet lord' while i'm at my pc and i can't help but resonate with his genuine, heartfelt devotion, his appeal to christ or krishna.
the way he opens and pours out his heart to his 'lord' is inspiring.
a while back, i went to a catholic church to see two friends renew their wedding vows.

Gumby : I cry just by picking out a hallmark card for someone I love......but it ain't no spirit moving me.
It is the "spirit of love" !!! That's when I join Mouthy = "Holy spirit" (and you know it's love - you just know it - what is more holy than true love?)

I'm just curious
by RAF in.
i'm just curious to get the point ... what did you find the most satisfying in your relationship (i mean serious relationship which is supposed to last) with your other half after 5 to 10 years:.
a listing would be nice in the preferential order like.

Yeah nice poem PEC
Buttlight !!!
KatieKitten :
very kind and tolerant with my daughter
Now that's something which really had it's importance - when occasionnaly my ex was living with us ... When he was moody he was actually bothering my son with supid stuffs like how to sit while you are eating on a table (when he was not able to show the right example BTW) - There are so much things wich is important for kids to pay attention to that really I couldn't stand that (= WAR not because of what he was saying to Tony but because of his reasons and his inability to show the right example) - that is when I really fell like to kick him out of the house RIGHT NOW.
Now I have to wonder if I would really enjoy to share parentwood? You brought that back on the table (it will always depends on with who anyway).
and I like your allusion linking 5 to 2

Thank you all (wasn't expecting to have more answers)
Ok ... maybe you needed to know why I'm asking ... the longest relationship I've been in began when I was 18 and lasted 11 years but from the 4th year I already knew that we wouldn't end up together - and maybe somehow it was visible to him (I don't know) but I didn't look for somebody else just because, I had no interest in doing it till we really broke up and even a very long after.
Since then I've never been in a relationship I thought that it would last forever and I knew it from the begining - it was more like occasional short to long compagnonship (since I never lived with anyone - but my ex occasionnaly because I or he needed it for diferent practical reasons - and all together something like 2 years in several occasions from 1 month to almost 1 year on 11 years).
And this experience of living together sounds like hell after just a little while ... and I must tell probably because of the mood swings stuff BTW !!! ... Nothing as much bothering than someone who change his mood when its for a reason that you don't know about ... Now I have to wonder if that was not something which have or not bothered him from me, but when my mood swings I make sure that the other one know about the why if he asks, (I feel like if he doesn't, he knows why - it's like I can feel it that he knows).
To be able to stand someone on the long run ... I think that I need "harmony" that's why I think that not living together is the best choice for me, because we can chose the moment we want/need to be together (there is a reason - his/mine/both other than : We don't have the choice - and it's forever) also because I'm moody ... And of course it's not always related to the other one ... lots of things can absorbe me to the point I'm able to forget about whoever (I know it's an issue) and sometimes I just feel the need to be alone or even lets say feel free (and that's not easy to explain to who is concerne) but when we decide to be together well I want harmony.
Trust comes into all your answers (which sounds an obvious need) only changeling haven't mentionned supportive / someone to rely on but A feeling of safety (emotional and physical) looks the same ... it's related to trust ... and of course sounds very important in the matter (when I would put parenthood on the side since it depends on if children are involved - but I guess I would enjoy that).
So thanks for the confirmation, I guess what I need to personnaly look for, is what's listed here
- harmony (which is probably related to understanding and complicity)
- trust (on what is really important - which have nothing to do with blinded loyalty)
Somehow I guess that's what is important to me with friends also on the long run either in fact.

Do you like my new avatar?
by dobbie ini have been searching for a nice new one, and came across this which looks almost of the exact replica of a print i bought last year.
i love seaside themes, there's nothing better to clear your head than a long walk along the beach and i find it helps me come to important decisions.. i just hope this avatar lasts as long as the print did, it took me two years to decide to spend the 120.00 on it (alot of money for me) went specially to this gallery in cornwall to buy it, went back and left it in the bedroom.
despite the fact it had been packed between two sheets of paper and taped in cardboard to keep it safe, i found it ten minutes later, with my then 1 yr old who had decided to try a bit of artwork of his own, but not on the nice plain paper or cardboard actually all over the picture!agh!i should know by now if the kiddies go all quiet it means they are up to no good!.

The Way To Love
by JamesThomas inone of my favorite little books is: the way to love: the last meditations of anthony de mello.. following is from the chapter: be awake.
it may be too direct, ruthlessly honest and straight-forward for many; we are not normally exposed to such hard-hitting guidance.
yet some of you it will touch in a significant way; enough to purchase this rare little gem that you may gleem from its pages much wisdom.. .

Yeah I guess than from seing someone suffering or in need for instance, we have the hability to feel for ... I guess we skip that regarding a lot ... (out of real inhability to help) there must be lots of "REASONS" related to ourselves (ego which lead the feelings) and since its about to feel. Somehow it's about to realiase what disconnect us from some others (WHY?).
That's somehow also what the bible is saying in its own way (kill your body/material side/vanity-Ego to be able to be spiritual which allow to be more loving in fact)
