oh oh oh ... and about the bible (JW do think that all the bibles are alike which is not true and the one which differ big deal with others is the NWT once ...).
So it's interesting to show them that all bibles are not the same ...
Of course you'll have an answer like ... well the NWT is the right one ... but you still can show how they complicated it all (to make sure any would need a mentor to tell them what it all means).

The THIRD DIMENSION of Understanding
by Terry inwhat could be more separate?
what could be more distinctively unalike than a cricle .
a triangle...
-
RAF
I'd like you to consider these two shapes and their UNalike characteristics as a kind of metaphor for religion. Specifically Christianity.
There is Orthodox Christianity which narrowly defines itself by the standard set at the Council of Nicea in 325 c.e. We'll call this self-identifying section of the Christian religion as the Circle set.
Then, there is sectarian Christianity which diverges from Orthodox Christianity by narrowly selecting other self-identifications. We'll call these groups of self-identifying Christians as the Triangle set.
These oppositional groups both call themselves CHRISTIANS.
you've missed one of them (and it does not limit the dimension of the understanding to those you've mentioned) to get every point for all angles possible
so here it is : Then there is a gnostic christian view which would look like a sphere where the understanding takes into consideration everything from it's center to the entire sphere volume (that you can compare to its capacity) ... that's an open philosophy and you can go as far as you want from whatever angle ... no limit but a central point.

If I do remember well that's (showing the out of context habit of the WTBS - in the reasoning book) which catch one of my sisters attention ... (since she wasn't interested in any JW victime story and couldn't get the wrong part of the doctrine) ... She is not out yet (I wonder why) but that's about 8 months (and it allowed me to go further on it all) and now she do not feel to say amen to whatever their books and elders do tell/order her ... which is a BIG step.

Men's intuition....please read the womens intuition post first..thanks
by ninja ini have always said as men we down play our intuition, when we should rely on it more.
words i should have lived by........i was dating a woman one time....i was getting bad vibes...something was amiss....i should have known something was up when there was another man in her bed and 2 children watching telly in the living room...the subtle signs...also the wedding ring on her finger and photos of the family on the mantle piece were telling me something was not quite right...but what?
..i couldnt quite put my finger on it...but!!!

That's what intuition is, subconscious thoughts
humm those subconscious thoughts... are based on experience and incoherence (or paranoid feelings)
but to get back to this subject since it's about joking : If you live me at the fire station ... I'll ... well ... I'd rather be single !!! So I'd rather stay single till the firemen ball ... LOL

Christians could and did. Can JWs? Do they?
by ANewLeif inthere are many things the bible says christians could do and things the bible describes christians doing that, according to their doctrine, jws can't do.. christians could talk directly to jesus.
(acts 7:54-60; acts 9:3-16) can you?
christians could decide for themselves which days they chose to observe without any fear of religious retribution.

Do most Christians worship the Father like Jesus did, or do they almost exclusively worship Jesus?
Yadda, Most Christians believe Jesus IS GODyep ... and it's not a detail (it's like the king told you, my son is now the king ... but you keep on looking at the son like the prince).

JC8224 : And to touch on it once again, why are you so stuck on the fact that they don't pray to Jesus? GOD is the creator and the almighty and the one who gives life and death ... Not JESUS!
Ooops that's not really what the bible is saying !!!
without Christ (= maturity to me) nothing would have come to life ... / and without Christ (= still maturity) we are in trouble and are keeping on leading whatever is really good, to death.
But maybe when talking about Christianity we do forget about separating the OT and the NT (that's a also one of the JW teaching trouble) Christ is God's posterity ... so if any stick to what is God (= everything by essence to me / including the troubles related to everyonces free will and by then their own egos) ... any do not really understand what means Christ (to me = God's own maturity / the lord in God - wich actually deserves the title of Lord).
That's why Christ's message is very simple (nothing to be confused about) / that's why he had to be presented/personified as the unic son of God (the posterity) and a son of man (an example for us) ... So if any absolutely wants to go farest than the message in forgeting about what Christ really means ... This one is a lost sheep. (at everybody's possible human cost - and for the JW's like for instance suicides for those who are exausted or those who followed the JW teaching about the blood issu )But it's not the end anyway ... They still have eyes, ears and a brain to get the point at some point (bad fruits = bad fruits / wrong doctrine = wrong doctrine but about this part you have to meditate about it without having any autority but Christ himself or itself = maturity).

The WT doctrine is wrong and following it do not allow any who does, to call him/herself a christian (but eventually if sincere a mislead/lost sheep) it is his/her responsability to keep an eye on the fruits (good or bad and at some point - with "maturity" - people are supposed to get the point - it's not about following blindly ... that's "childish" = not taking responsability). their is a big difference in between listening (obeying) and discerning ...
Thank youANL for the scriptures ... Most do show that spirituality have nothing to do with religion as it is understood today (if religion do not mean respect - but : church - which is not the same at all).
The real probleme with the JW doctrine (but not only theirs) is that the GB is missleading their followers to focusing on being saved(with an iminent end for the carrot or the punishement) to the point that their followers can become unloving/selfish even with their own kids to be saved and that's unChristian (phylosophically and biblically talking) ...
That's being their Ego/Satan slaves (phylosophically and biblically talking). You are with him or against him (and this doesn't really mean Christ as a person - since christ is not egoticentric - but what he means). This have not being said to lead us to be in the same religion/church since it doesn't lead to what it should lead if we do not have same (Christian) spirit towards others (so it is not a question of religion/church) ... That's why an atheist can be more Christian by heart, than someone who wants to be called Christian by name (it a question of spirit, not a question of laws or name)
The only thing which can replace "maturity/wisdom" in Christian spirituality is "love but more precicely Charity" and that's from where it begun (so we don't really need to study years to get there). I guess Experience helps but it ask us to be honest with ourselves an not being a false doctrine and GB members apologistes (for instance). Call a dog a dog ... or we are misleading ourselve (then who is responsible if not ourselves when we are able to recognise a dog?).
