I didn't read the entire "You Know"-stuff (very long and takes much time because English isn't my native language..), but nevertheless
I am ready to assure all forum-members here:
The situation of the international economy- and finance-structure is indeed extremely dangerous.
There never has been a similar situation during the entire history.
We do not know the manner how the things go on, but you might be sure, that there is a connection between situation mentioned and the plan of God to change the world to establish a new and righteous world order. But my opinion is, that the matters proceed in an other way than most of all (including JW's, nonJW's, exJW's and WTS) would expect.

LET'S MAKE A LITTLE WAGER
by You Know inperhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.
as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

Just who 'gave' the name?
by ozziepost inthe year 1925 was notable as the year when the wts for the first time proclaimed the importance of the name jehovah, although the watchtower followers were not called jehovah's witnesses until six years later in 1931.. this is claimed by the wts (see proclaimers book, page 152) to be a name given by "divine providence".. this is the teaching given in the knowledge book on page 94, paragraph 12.. a question: since there's much conjecture about the 'proper' name and pronunciation of god's name, some believing that yahweh is the most appropriate, why did an all-knowing god not impart to his f&ds the correct pronunciation.
if he wanted his followers to be named after himself, then why did he tell them to be called by an erroneous name?.
interestingly, the proclaimers book itself gives an alternative explanation of the origin of the name jehovah's witnesses:.

"Are you saying that it wasn't a part of Rutherford's strategy?".
My opinion is:It's not so important if it has been "strategy" or "genius stroke" or whatever: If someone (this one could be me, or you, or your husband, or Bill Gates, or the Pope or else...) is going to use the name of the Almighty God and claims to speak in HIS name, he is fully responsible for ALL THINGS WHICH HAPPENS THEREAFTER.
God didn't conclude a license-agreement with the WTS (or someone else) for using HIS name, which can be terminated to any point in time the licensee might be free to define...

[qoute]"Author Chandler W Sterling refers to this as "the greatest stroke of genius" on the part of J F Rutherford, then president of the Watch Tower Society". [/qoute]
Wasn't.Because the society is now judged by the Almighty God in regard to have put honor to HIS name or not; more than any other society, religion or association in the world.

I'm a practising JW.I suppose, that you have a very strong belief that armageddon will come very soon and most of all "worldly" people get killed in a disastrous slaughter.
This is not my opinion.
Please send me an e-mail so we could chat about this matter via Internet. I think some guys in this forum are offending you, and therefore it makes no sense to discuss the topic.

Wait until next week.
If the EURO then has fallen under 60US-cent because of complete breakdown of trade and economy in Europe caused by total chaos and rejection of the new currency, then you've been right...;-) lol

Why JWs are The Happiest People on Earth

Yes of course JW does not actually mean WTS. But when we say JW we mean WTS and of course you know that.
You should mean what it actually meant!
It seems to me you are the twin brother of "Ferkel", whose slogan is:
"I didn't mean what I meant." LOL -

Will we ever find the magic bullet.
by sleepy inlets just face it humans are odd.. nearly all here are proof of it.. we were able at one time to believe so fully in an idea that we gave our lives to it , and now we dont.. although this subject has been discussed many times before it is something that frustrates me , big time.. well we all at one time thought we knew it all.
the meaning of life the real history of human kind why we die why there is suffering and many more of lifes mysteries were plain and simple to us.. gradually came the realisation that things were not as we had thought.. what was once so obvious was now so obviously wrong.. so how do humans manage to believe fervently on issues that to others make no sense?.
is there a magic explanation or piece of logic that can convince any witness with a functioning mind the error of their beliefs?.

Now, if there was a huge assembly of JWs in Yankee Stadium, like there was in 1954 (was it?), and the final act in the assembly was a mass suicide via cyanide-laced Kool-Aid THEN you'd get the attention of the media. But not for long.
As we've seen, crashing a couple of jetliners into large buildings is enough to get the media off the scent of whatever it is that's on their minds and focus it somewhere else.
Could you friendly explain how to make an intellectual brain-looping between JWs in Yankee Stadium 1954 and "suicide via cyanid-laced Kool-aid" (supposedly you meant AUM-sect in Japan) and Osama bin Laden's terrorist org ??
It seems you have got a very skewed, dangerous and perverse fancy... -

When we refer to someone as a Jw we mean one that follows the teachings of the Wbt sociaty.
Sorry, that's not right. JW is everybody who is (or become) "witness of the existence of YHVH/JHWH", and of HIS "mode of operation" (in history as well as in future).
Besides, see: Isa 43:10If you see an accident on the street wherein e.g. a car got involved at which you are able to identify the mark of the car and the guilty driver, then you become witness of the accident (the "event") but not certainly you do not become witness of the company who sold the car or manufactured it.
WTS see themselves as "faithful and discreet slave" who gives the "food at the proper time". A slave is a slave. He is not to be worshipped. He shall be praised if he carefully does the instructions he is given by his master; but not beyond this.Note: WTS see all worshippers of the ancient time as JW, as witnesses for Jehovah, from Abraham to Moses, from David to Jesus Christ. Were they member of the WTS ?

>Ok, Erich, give us the literal English translation back from the German.<Okay. This is the translation in German language, printed as:
19 einzelne Schwestern, die keinen menschlichen Kopf haben, zu konsultieren und anzuvertrauen, sind vielleicht ‘geeigneter, zu werfen ihre Lasten auf Jehovah.
And this means, re-translated to English, approximately:
19 individual sisters, who have no human head with, to consult and to entrust, are more suitable to throw their loads on Jehovah.

>19 Single sisters, not having a human head to consult with and confide in, may be more apt to ‘throw their burdens upon Jehovah.’<
I nearly died when I read what my language-translating-program printed out in German....
