  an inactive friend just spoke to some elders who, not from the platform but one-on-one, said they believe the coming war with iraq will cause world war iii and armageddon.

  has anyone else heard this?

  it may be that some are using this as a tactic to scare inactives back into the watchtower society along with their needed donations, especially since the pedophile and wts-u.n. scandals.

  I think you altogether cannot image the danger of the present world-situation.
  
  This has nothing to do whether the WTC has told a non-fulfilled prophesy in the past or not.
  
  Its simply a fact NOBODY can deny. And if he does, he is a fool.
  
  Don`t forget: There are other people who are NO JW`s believing in the same bible and the same prophesies e.g. in the book revalation. They, in same way, are looking anxiously out to the process of increasing violence, threatening ABC-war, suicide-attacs and so on. And they know that such a world situation NEVER had parallelity in the past. NEVER !! Do you think all these people are dumb?

  ok the weirdest thing just happened to my coworker and i. we went to go pickup our breakfast from accross the street.

  when we got back to our building we walked over to the elevators and as we turned the corner we saw someone get into the elevator before it closed.

  we didnt see the person exactly but we saw their leg or whatever passthrough before the door closed.

  I`m sure that I will see my ancestors again.

  Maybe in that manner the bible promises (a resurrection through a miracle done by God or Jesus Christ)

  But maybe in an other way some scientists promises:

  In about 500 years mankind will be able to do time-travel both into future or into the past. Those people anno 2 500 will certainly visit our presence; and they are possibly able to take us with in their time-travel-"vehicle" (we do not know the technology at all!) to THAT past where our ancestors were living... Some scientists say that each time-travel into the past OPENS a door to a new universum. So, in this way, one can understand why ALL people ever lived here on earth can have a resurrection without standing on the foot of their neighbors...;-)

  Yes, I think this is NO SCIENCE FICTION AT ALL.
  
  My opinion is the bible`s prophecy could be fulfilled by scientific efforts without getting aware of the fact they are tools in God`s hand.
  
  But the greatest problems are the following:
  (and I tried in vain - desperately! - to put it in the minds of most of all forum-members here for months and weeks):
  
  a) The proven view to achieve earthly IMMORTALITY (already the prospect! It did not happen yet! ) might DESTROY all kinds of RELIGIONS ("Babylon the Great")
  There would be no additional need of any "UN-fight" against those religions - the prospect is sufficient...!
  
  b) The proven prospect for earthly immortality DESTROYS the world economy TOTALLY. Why?
  
  One reason is, that all pharmaceutic-, biotech- and gentech-companies will try to get the PATENT RIGHTS for the TECHNOLOGY providing endless life. If indeed one company has got the exclusive rights, they can call for the highest price for the "pill" you may imagine. A morderous fight for licenses, co-rights and franchises would begin, a tremendous swirl, that brings all other sort of business to a stillstand...
  
  The other reason is, that only the RICH PART of mankind could utilize the "technology" (these are about 5 - 10%; not more). Most people have got no money to buy the "pill for immortality". These people would get an ENORMOUS HATRED against those part of mankind which would be able to pay the price. The terroristic efforts would increase dramatically - and the issue, finally, would be "HARMAGEDON.
