berlin (reuters) - german federal and state interior ministers declared the church of scientology unconstitutional on friday, opening the door for a possible ban on the organization.
federal interior minister wolfgang schaeuble and 16 state interior chiefs agreed "that we do not consider scientology an organization that is compatible with the constitution," ehrhart koerting, berlin's interior minister and chairman of a ministers' conference in berlin, told reporters.. germany does not recognize scientology as a religion.

i am deeply enjoying it, and i might post a review when i finish, but until then .

Yes I've read it, it's an excellent book. I also have "Pale Blue Dot" by Sagan, and "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" by Sagan, and Ann Druyan. I remember my parents letting me stay up to watch Cosmos when it aired on PBS, I think that helped to make me a bit too inquisitive.

The demons in Paris and NYC - More sophisticated than the ones in Timbuktu?
by nvrgnbk inremember the jw concept ( maybe it's a bible concept too) that different regions and nations are ruled by specific demons?.
i always thought that was funny.. like, are the demons in very superstitious regions "extroverted" and cantankerous, while the ones that promote materialism and atheism are more "subtle", sophisticated even?
which region does satan hang out in?.

for years my family went to south bend, indiana to avoid it.
then when south bend stopped having conventions (probably having something to do with the catholics not appreciating the brothers slamming the religion that financed, built, and hosts the lovely arena they were using), we tried madison, wisconsin for a year, before finally trudging back over to silverdome.

There were two district convention sites that our congregation alternated between a few times. One was Veteran's stadium in Philadelphia, and the other was in Landover, MD just outside Washington DC. Everyone would hope that this year it'd be Landover since that was indoors and air conditioned, and Veteran's Stadium was an outdoor stadium. When we were assigned Veteran's there'd always be a special needs talk on how we were to follow instruction and go to Philly instead of Landover.

What did you learn today?
by JH ini went to the dentist today and was told that i have to floss before i brush my teeth, not after...... i always brushed then i flossed afterwards, and was told that when you floss, you send bacteria on your teeth and that's why you have to floss first.. so, i learned something today...... .

I learned that thanks to meth heads the reformulated cold medicines suck, and to get the stuff that works you have to see the Pharmacist, and then they have to check your ID, and plug who knows what into a computer, then you have to sign something then they give you your friggen Sudafed. Bah!
