  on another thread i read about someone being denied by eharmony and was wondering if there are any exjw dating sites.

  i wish i knew of one, but thought since someone else mentioned some folks have made a connection here that it would be a good idea to have everyone that is interested raise their hand and say if they are looking for love in all the wrong places or just looking...... i hope this post is not out of line or off topic.. i guess i will start even tho i am married.

  I was publicly reproved in Feb 2005, my last meeting was Oct 2005, and the last time I was in service was, from what I can remember, sometime right after 9/11. Both my brother and sister have disowned me becasue my speach is "tainted w/ apostate thinking. " My mother talks to me regularly, we just stay away from any topics JW related. Of course, she always manages to slip in comments like, "We had our assembly this weekend" or "I was talking to this sister in service the other day." My father has been DF'd since I was 16 and we finally have a close relationship.

  we have not been in the org for over 10 years now but still see the old jw's around and about.

  one particular couple we used to be fairly friendly with we bumped into the other night as they are doing a course at the college my hubby lectures at.

  they were never the strongest of couples but have kept going cos of their family i suppose.

  In my opinion, slipnslidemaster gave great advice. First, work on getting them back into your circle of friends, rebuilding your and their trust, and just enjoying their company. Any convos regarding JW beliefs or policies could possibly push them away. Besides, you seem very excited to be getting together w/ your friends. Enjoy your first meal back together w/ convos of what is going on in your lives and maybe play a game like Pictionary, Bolderdash, Scene It, or even Monopoly. For both your sake and theirs, take your time and get to know them again.
