As already mentioned we are talking about child predators and yes the congregation should be made aware if there is one among them. i'm sorry but too bad for the abuser. I could care less if he is made to feel uncomfortable or damned by the congregation. He/She certainly did not care about the innocent child/children's feelings when destroying their lives.

Those who WERE or ARE Elders (Re: Molestation Coverup)
by dontplaceliterature ini'd like to hear from those who are currently elders or were formerly elders on your honest feelings about the charges brought against the society and their general policy in handling these matters.
do you think that the society handles child abuse accusations fairly?
or, do you think their policy is abusive?

I was not an elder but I am a victim of abuse. When I finally told on my abuser (about 22 yrs old) I was only told that is entirely up to me if I wanted to inform the police. I didn't get at the time but looking back I find it interesting how there was no scriptures to support it one way or the other. Just a single statement and they washed their hands of it. The abuse was disfellowshipped but it was made perfectly clear to him that he is being disfellowshipped for habitual drinking not molestation. Apparently because the abuse had occured so long ago (12 years or so) the statute of limitations had run out. I know now all they were trying to do is sweep it under the carpet.

Fun with the July 15th WT illustration
by undercover inyes, friends, it's that time once more... when we clip some wt art to a post and try to find all the subliminal wt propaganda messages hidden in the illustration.
(kinda like, "can you find the differences between these two drawings" for kids in the sunday comics).
here's the illustration:.

Is this a 2012 magazine or 1980 mag?
Also, I wonder how they got Jonah Hill to pose for their mag.

"Don't take your hotel breakfast for lunch!" LOL That is hilarious! Why the hell not? Crazy dubs and their rules. Always more concerned with making the org look good (for potential new members) than caring for the needs of their flock. They sound a lot like Pharisees to me.

Anyone been to a meeting after a drink...or three?
by MMXIV ini recall going to the second half of a thursday night meeting after what was meant to be a cheeky after work beer (three strong beers downed quickly on an empty stomach).
i would have been ok had a caring elder not decided to grab me for some encouragement afterwards.. i hoped the faint odor of smoke on my clothes (smoking in pubs was still the done thing in those days) wouldn't be noticed but hard to hide alcohol on the breath.
i tried to say very little and talk in a way that avoided me beathing over him.

LOL I knew an elder that used to get tipsy before meetings. Tipsy on a daily basis actually. He was constantly being removed from his eldership for this and for telling the secrets of the congregation members to friends/family. From what I hear though Jah's holy spirit finally deleted him as elder for good. Thank you Lord! :)

Remarrying, then paradise =problem?
by Inisc inthis is a question i always wondered about and never got an answer to.. its also another reason why i'm finding it harder to believe in an 'afterlife'.. th idea that humans can live forever, now seems so scientificly impossible.. so i wanted to ask all the great minds on here,.
if someone's spouse dies, and then they remarry, then armageddon comes and goes then the deceased is resurrected,.
how,is that ever gonna work?

Hmm . . . If I was still a JW and married to someone I truly loved then I would make sure my new husband (if I chose to remarry) would be okay with me ditching him after armageddon. LOL
Crazy Jdubs! It is hard to believe I was ever one.

''I love the organization''
by punkofnice in..........said mrs punk!.
this was how she justified screaming abuse at me an slamming doors when she overheard me tell a bloke who was about to get baptized why i quit the meetings.
in fairness i wouldn't have said a thing but he asked me.

I can relate to u Punk. I don't understand how my jw family can be such die hards when presented with hard facts. I don't get their undying devotion to the org. Though they'll deny it we all know that for many dubs the ORG and God/Jehovah is one and the same.
When I started researching the facts about the org I wasn't disappointed, sad, angry, depressed. I don't think I ever believed 100% so it was more of a relief to finally know once and for all that I was not going to die in armageddon.
I won't tell JW strangers or my family anything negative about their relgion unless they ask. And my family has asked a time or two but now they know to leave the subject alone (for the most part).
Good luck to you and Mrs. Punk. I really hope she finds her way out like you did.

FDS says - "No need to check our work. Besides, it will only make God angry."
by Crisis of Conscience inthough i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.
***w81 2/15 p.19 do we need help to understand the bible?***.

Another reason they don't want the dubs to learn critical thinking skills. Thank you lucky stars I'm no longer a Stepford JW.
