Why won't they simply change policy on sex offenders? Will they?
by punkofnice inwhy won't they (the wbt$ head honchos), simply change policy on sex offenders?
will they?..especially after the arc for eg?
it seems that with all the bad press and now the arc among other institutions that are exposing the wbt$ for a haven for paedophiles, why hasn't the wbt$ simply changed it's insane policy?.

Its very simple. The GB has a thick file in Brooklyn and it lists paedophiles in congregations worldwide. These files also expose who serves as an elder or MS, who is a paedophile. The sickness these people have is incurable. Sure the GB says Elders monitor these ones, but how can an elder body do that? Its a sad day when the GB make these rules with no sense of concern for children. Its been proven that paedophiles have a very high rate of reoffending. Tell that to the mothers and fathers of small children who carry the emotional wounds of trusting unknowingly a family friend Elder, Ms with the well being of their kids. Yet here we are, we know thousands serve as elders and ministerial servants, how will a householder react if he finds out the nice caring man who has just fondled his child while handling out literature is a sexual predator? Sad day. -

What is their official explanation for not allowing beards?
by keyser soze ini ask because my gf, who knows all about my jw upbringing, convinced me to grow a goatee, just to see how it looks.
we both decided it looked good so i decided to keep it.
i tried to explain to her that as a jw, i wasn't allowed to grow one, but then drew a blank when she asked me why.

The CO, member of Toronto Bethel Pasternack, and my body of elders said, "We follow the GB rules re:beards. Because JEh. speaks to them through holy spirit. Then later the dreaded back room, where I was told not to question the authority of the org. I was treated like I had blasphemed, it was a small crack in my faith that appeared that day, should have followed my instinctive feeliings, There are no beards allowed its unwritten rule, the GB says so, I should have faded sooner. -

Direction the elders rarely follow.
by notoneoftheboys inhere is a quote from a w/t article a few years ago.
in all the 8 kh i attended [work locations changed] not one body of elders followed this direction, so if they are not minding the sheep who is?
it galls me that they will quickly act if you grow a beard, or voice an opinion, or ask a question, but when your family fall foul of abuse where are the elders then?.

The elders primary task is to act as shepherds. (Isaiah 32:1,2; 1Peter 5:2,3) They should be especially careful to clothe [themselves] with the tender affections of compassion, kindness, lowliness of mind, mildness, and long-suffering. (Colossians 3:12) Let them listen in a kindly way and then apply healing words from the Scriptures. (Proverbs 12:18) Some who are afflicted with painful memories have expressed appreciation for elders who make regular visits or even telephone calls to check to see how they are doing. Such contacts need not take a lot of time, but they show that Jehovah's organization cares. When the afflicted one realizes that his Christian brothers truly love him, he may be helped to recover a considerable degree of emotional balance.

So, I became very ill ... what did my loving brothers do?
by EdenOne inrecently i have fallen ill with a serious case of chickenpox (shingles).
three weeks down, high fevers, and the blisters attacked mostly my scalp and face, but then also my whole upper body.
i looked horrid, truly like a mutant monster out of a nuclear disaster.

This is a worldwide problem. If you are in the elite group then you will get limited support. If you are in the R&F tough. I was sick with a fractured leg in plaster, reg mtg attender, reg in service but not elite. 6 weeks went by the only call I got was for my field service report. No elder MS or anyone else asked me if I needed anything, the catholic family next door did more for me in a week than my so called loving brothers did in the years I was there.
The elders did come round to find out why I had grown a beard in my time away from the meetings when I explained I had a face rash from the painkillers the reaction I got was have it shaved off before you get back to meetings. So where is this worldwide brotherhood??????

Brilliant work and patient effort thank you deeply for recording these videos, you might be interested to know I have current elder friends in Canada and the uk who love to know whats going on but cannot do so openly. I have directed them to this site. The GB has no idea that so many elders question privately only and with trusted friends their policies Thank you. -

Horley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses UK (disbanded)
by konceptual99 indoes anyone in the uk know any details about the above congregation?
it seems it was disbanded by the co specifically because of "lack of love" and members reassigned to other congregations in the reigate and crawley areas.. i've checked the charities commission web site and the charity was removed in may 2012.. http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/showcharity/registerofcharities/removedcharitymain.aspx?registeredcharitynumber=1066699&subsidiarynumber=0.
the cobe was a guy called rossiter (sp?

This is a common thing, many congregations have "left the love they had at first" I have been to a few halls in Canada in London Ontario, no one greeted me, elders and MS were all about paperwork, talk was from a discontinued outline, my family and I walked out disgusted and I served as an elder then!!! -

another abuse that most JW children go through is severe "spankings" at the hall..is that still going on?
by wwjdnwt ini was born into the jw's religion.
was an active jw for over 30 years.
i remember when i was a child my mom would take me in the bathroom and switch me so hard with the nice little switch she got from the tree outside.

It happened too often, how many kids remember the harsh spankings? Was it really necessary? Was their sin so bad that they deserved physical punishment. At times past I have seen parents struggle with noisy children, but when I see their parents behaviour its them I wanna slap!!!
