More Beatles Remasters..........
by lepermessiah insorry, i cant resist another beatles topic.. i have picked up all but three of the beatles remasters.. they sound totally brilliant....... i heard a few complaints about the white album (too "muddy" in places) but overall i was very excited about the sound.that album has such an interesting dynamic that i could see how some people would feel that way.
that album is a brilliant muddled mess of styles - only the beatles could pull it off.. abbey road is still the album i am getting a big kick out of - here comes the sun you can hear the pick hitting the strings on the guitar, mean mr mustard, the intro sounds like you are sitting in the room with ringo, etc...........i keep playing with the balance knob on my stereo to hear the different channels and really hear the details......great fun .

Why do Christians want to be part of a religion that Jesus did not endorse?
by AK - Jeff inhe was a martyr.
he had wonderful moral teaching [if we can attribute it to him honestly].
he drew a crowd.. could have said any of that about ghandi.

An attempt to determine history should also consider that, whether you believe
them or not, people make the kind of claims that call on faith of the Jesus of
the mainstream Christian view. Here we are on a board about the JW leaders, for
example, and others who have claimed to be propets or the Messiah have appeared.
The choice about Jesus isn't restricted to mainstream Christian or a guy who
didn't make the mainstream claims. The earliest mainstream indication would be
the earliest of Paul's writings, about 16 (?) years after the crucifixion, which
refer to him having previously led others to persecute followers for praying to
Jesus so Paul did when he converted.

i found this so funny, especially if you are/were/know a lot about jws.
what is funny is that it's mostly the truth, presented in a humorous form.

Having fun with the Elders (Humor,Humour)
by StoneWall ina friend and i were discussing ways to really have fun with the elders or make them cringe or very uncomfortable.. here are a couple we came up with:.
1) take cash and get a money order to send into playboy magazine as a x-mas gift for a year's subscription and give.
them the elder's name and address to mail it to.. 2) in larger cities for a price you can get a nice looking striper give them a strip-a-gram at their residence or place of.

I recommend that the primary focus, at least, be on the JWs leaders' efforts
to substantiate their claims of being the only rule makers of a literal
144,000--that the best evidence and reasoning supports their dozen or so rules
meant to establish that exclusiveness. It's not a sincere difference of belief/
non-belief choice any more than Popoff made with his transmitter. The follow-
ers, including elders, of the JWs leaders or a Popoff are victimized by that.
They didn't put the "transmitter" there. -

I'm Still Torn About the Blood Issue
by palmtree67 inwhen i left the org.
the blood issue wasn't an issue for me.
my best friend was on the blood committee for years and i could see many cases where either blood wouldn't have saved the person anyways (like when a person is in a serious car accident and their liver is in pieces), or blood actually killed the person and/or hindered recovery.. then my little nephew got leukemia.
