Your main concern should be whether he will want both cult membership and a relationship with his child. Allowing your child to go anywhere near this child molesting cult is the last thing you should want. If you can afford to raise the child on your own, I would stay as far away from this guy as possible. If you have to have child support from him, do so, but be aware of the emotional toll it will cost you and the baby. Check out http://jwchildcustody.com/

Will A JW pick his religion over raising his own child?
by HYM inmy ex was disfellowshipped and then he was going to go back to the religion, but he met me and fell in love... i kept trying to push him away because i knew that jw's were only to date jw's.
he insisted that we stayed together.
now 9 months later, i am pregnant and he decided he needed to go back and renew his faith.

YouTube Videos That Move You
by RAYZORBLADE inwe've all got songs .
i'm not so much a movie/film affeciando, but i know many are.. music is more my forte.. i've been delving back deep into music i once used to listen to not only as a little boy, but also the time while a jw (1977-1984); post-jw and of course, years leading up closer to where i am now.. any recommendations?.
i noticed on some threads, that some youtube videos started right away; i liked that.

EXTREME Watchtower Articles... any suggestions ?
by AlphaOmega ini'm looking to put together a collection of scanned watchtower / awake articles and extracts of other watchtower publications to show non-jws (and maybe even some current jws) that highlight the control issues of the society.. .
i am thinking along the lines of the famous 1996 article with the caption "do you wisely destroy apostate material ?
i will obviously upload the collection when it is complete.. .

How did you build a new life outside of the JWs?
by Sirona in"if you leave jehovah's organisation, where will you go?".
no doubt many of us have been asked that question.
so where did you "go" when you left the jws?

The best way to obtain friends is to be a friend. Once out of the JW's, you have a lot of options: work, the gym, clubs, civic organizations hobbies, community events, family and former friends who aren't JW's--unlimited potential.

Why do the majorityof JW's look so happy at the hall?
by JH ineach time i go, i see a bunch of happy people, young and old.
some smile more than others, but just about everyone seems happy to be there.. maybe we left because we weren't that happy, rather than finding flaws in the religion.. maybe they look happy because they aren't allowed to look sad..

Because misery loves company! Besides, if you're depressed, it shows spiritual weakness.

Surge in "anointed ones"
by dozy inthe nightmare scenario is slowly unravelling for the wts.. since 1935 , wtbts policy was to shut up the kingdom of heaven by implying that any new anointed was at best misled & at worst a fake.
franzs replacement theory did little to help matters.
this suppressed many jws from becoming anointed.. recent wt articles & changes in thought has resulted in a surge in jws claiming this status.

I read somewhere, probably on this site, that disfellowshipped partakers will not be counted.

Two wierd comments: First, I have never tried alternative medicine for myself, but I have for my cat. She has megacolon which makes it impossible for her to have a bowel movement on her own. After several hundred dollars in vet bills, meds, prescription food, etc., our vet recommended we put her down. I found an herbal supplement online called LaxEase, and it works! Second, my husband used to drink juice made from some kind of boiled root made by the Amish to ease his arthritis pain. It actually worked, but it tasted so bad, he couldn't stand it for very long. So, I guess it's just hit and miss.

I don't mean to give you false hope, but I at least want to have you check out the possiblity that your grandma may have shingles. Several years ago, my MIL was in the same shape with severe headaches and getting sicker by the minute. Finally it was discovered that the shingles had attacked her brain. Sorry to say I can't remember what medicine they gave her, but she did recover. Unfortunately, she developed cancer and died 4 years ago, so I can't ask her what treatment she received for shingles.

WHY PAEDOPHILES MIGHT BE ATTRACTED TO JWS
by badboy ini have read that paedophiles tend to be more religious in nature.
-

I think pedophiles (the male ones anyway) are attracted to the JW's, because they know right off that women and children are subservient to men. The fact that the WTB&TS covers for them is just gravy.

Memorial Blues....
by Patrynz inok...so this is my first time posting here...long time lurker first time poster...a bit bout my situation...i havent been to a meeting in a long time...the last was my meeting to announce my disfellowshipping...i have recently gotten an invitation to the memorial...*gasp* well it is about that time of year again...i had been fortunate enuff to be vacant when it came to previous memorials and meetings in general, but due to a sudden unforseen familial situation i was located (found) and invited to the memorial....i have accepted the invitation and my significant other (who has no jw past) will be coming with me...she knows that this part of my life was brutal and that i have tried to leave it behind me as much as is humanly possible...she is a big reason i have been able to move past a lot of my "issues" with religion, family etc etc blah blah blah...i have gotten past a lot of those issues.... my question i think is...am i making a mistake in going?
i have no belief in their drivel and no desire to go back to that "dogs vomit" but due to my semi-newfound appreciation for life and life after jw'ness i am trying to patch stuff up with my jw family...least as much as i can...if such a thing is even possible...my jw family is actually treating me with some degree of human kindness and i feel as though i should at least try to rebuild some semblance of "family" i dunno....but i am going to the memorial....i must be nucking futz...anyhow...thoughts?

I think you're setting yourself up to be hurt even more, because if you do nothing else after attending the memorial, they'll drop you again. Sad but true in most cases.
