JWs can't associate with her, because she's not yet an approved associate, and it will look bad on them if they do. This is all for appearance sake. Once she becomes an unbaptized publisher, things should ease up a bit if she's accepted into one of the cliques. If not, she'll remain on her own.

Double Lives of JW Youth
by camicia ini posted a lengthy concern a while back about my 23 year old daughter on the verge of baptism.
the good news is she still hasn't progressed past studying - no door knocking thank god.
the bad news is she's still studying, attending meetings, etc and i am still very much a "satanic influence.

What in the world does your fiance think of them? Are ypu baptized? If so, you can be df'd for marrying in a church or by a minister. I'm sorry you're going through this, but maybe you should just tell them the truth, that you don't consider yourself a jw, especially if you're not baptized or on your way to being df'd.

How do i overcome this guilt and fear?
by newcomer1982 inive recently decided not to be a witness anymore and at the age of 28 was still so afraid to tell my parents.

Welcome to JWN! Please read the resources that have been referred to you. Th more you learn about cults, the more you'll be convinced that you were raised in one. The Watchtower, in essence, is no different than any other cult, and it can't accurately predict Armageddon any more than any other cult can.
I havent been disfellowshipped and knew if i do i will lose my parents and their relationship with their grandson will change too.
If your parents start to shun you, and they may whether or not you're df'd, you may want their relationship with your son to change. Do you really want them freaking him out with threats of Armageddon and how his parents aren't going to make it out alive? If you decide to celebrate birthdays and holidays, do you want your son to be guilted into thinking that he is sinning?
Also, welcom Isojourn!

Artist Jess Black, known for his abstract expressionism and more recently his international PETA campaign, will release a new collection of work that explores the oppression he experienced as a Jehovah's Witness during his childhood. This collection is about his personal truth.
The collection will tackle issues taught within the religion that include the end of the world, sexual freedom, medical care and disfellowshipping. Black states that while the idea of the collection has already angered people, it is about his own personal truth, not about anyone else's. He explains,"I'm not suggesting that all of my experiences were bad. I am not placing judgment on how anyone is living their life. This is about my truth, my experience. But here they are judging me. I think that is telling. I refuse to edit my life anymore. I think I am a good person and I refuse to apologize because they think otherwise."
Black is coming off of a successful show in Beverly Hills, CA at the David W. Streets Gallery and is looking forward to painting this new collection. He explains,"Traditionally I have painted for myself but I try to be cognizant of what collectors like, what they want. This time every single painting will be just for me. I hope that honesty will come through and resonate with collectors." The entire collection will be rendered throughout the summer with a venue announcement this Fall.
Bold mine.
Before a single piece of art was created, Jess knew what this art collection would be called. He stated,"Whenever we would get new bibles we were asked if we wanted it leather bound in black or red?" The collection will be titled,"Leather Bound in Black or Red"
Black (JessBlackart.com) was raised in Des Moines, IA and was known as a prodigy for his mural work as a young teenager. At age 17 Jess moved to New York where he modeled and pursued a music career. He continued to paint for a growing list of private clients. After almost 10 years Black moved to California and has made art his passion and his career. In late 2010, Black was named an emerging artist and one to watch in 2011 by a juried panel of University professors.

Is this a jw business?
Former GlasWeld president Mike Boyle has filed a suit against the company alleging that he was wrongfully discharged from employment in August 2009. The suit, which was filed in the Deschutes County (Ore.) Circuit Court on August 1, also alleges that the company's ownership discriminated against him and others during his 4-year tenure.
Boyle claims the alleged discrimination was based on his religious beliefs. For example, Boyle alleges he was told "to act as though he [was] a Jehovah's Witness" and that he was "once chastised" for including an image of the Pope in a presentation about going green.
Boyle further alleges that GlasWeld ownership once "refused to hire a marketing person on the basis that the applicant was gay." Boyle says he objected to the practice, but "the company refused to correct or address [the] decision."
Boyle says his disagreements with the company came to a head in August 2009, when he says GlasWeld "told him he had to resign or he would be fired, leaving him no reasonable alternative but to quit." He says company officials advised him the termination was based on "poor performance," according to the complaint.
The complaint further alleges that Boyle was told he had improperly built two products, but he claims this allegation was negated when the company issued a press release shortly after his release saying "he was instrumental in guiding the research and development of new glass repair technology ... "
He seeks damages totaling $800,000.
Boyle, who is representing himself in the case, filed the complaint on August 1 in the Deschutes County Circuit Court.
GlasWeld president Dennis Garbutt declined to comment, saying the company had not yet seen the suit-though official court records show it was filed on August 1.
At press time, Boyle still faces criminal charges. He pleaded not guilty to charges of theft in July, and a trial is scheduled for this
Bold is mine.
