I saw part of this video a few weeks ago, but watched it all the way through for the first time today. He seems like he's robably a preety nice guy...just had a few too many that night. He must not have done anything too bad since he didn't have cuffs on. It cracked me up at the end when he said, "Physical violence is the least of my priorities."

'Dinah Gets Into Trouble' - Does Story 20 Mean Rape = Fornication?
by sd-7 ini was listening, albeit unwittingly, to a 'my book of bible stories' tape and this statement caught me by surprise.
it's found in story 20:.
"one day when dinah came to visit, shechem took dinah and forced her to lie down with him.

Introduction Bio
by JakeM2012 inhi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.

No answer to this one!
by truthseeker1969 inas many of you know my brother an elder was called on to sit in a "judicial committee" re-instatement.. the brother has in the past done all he can to prove he is repentant but this time the co was here and apparently had a few things to say to the cobe when they were discussing the process.
the co asked why the poor guy had four re-instatement hearings and why the co had received a letter from him detailing that he "did not think he could do anymore".. anyway, long story short, the co sat in the hearing and hey presto the brother was re-instated.
my brother and the co spoke with the brother and the co said that he had done well and was sorry that the process has taken so long and shook his hand.. now he mentioned the latest letter about confidentiality and said that the society is being hit left right and center with civil lawsuits and are scared as the have no way of defending them.

The Watch Tower lost the "clergy/penitent privilege" battle in California during the child molester, Gilbert Simental's trial. In that case, a teacher of one of his victims reported her suspicions to the police. The mother of that child and another told police that the elders confirmed to her that Simental had confessed his guilt to them. When called to testify, the elders, under the society's direction claimed Clergy/penitent privilege, but the judge ruled against it stating that not only was more than one elder privy to the confession, but the society was as well. Then the prosecutor brought charges against the elders for failing to report the abuse to the police in a mandatory reporting state. The elders cut a deal and testified against Simental.

You're a grown woman with a child of her own. When someone asks about your beliefs, meeting attendance, field service, etc., just say you don't want to talk about it and then refuse to discuss it further. If they choose to shun you, it's their choice, not yours. You're not at fault. Start creating a real circle of friends, and note that any sacrifice to pay for non-jw daycare is worth it. Do you really want your jw family and/or in laws telling your kid that Mommy and Daddy are going to die at Armageddon, which, by the way, is right around the corner? You're already twisted in knots about them. Do you want your child to suffer the same way?t

I don't know what they do with the publisher cards, but I've never heard of one being made up in order to df someone. As far as your aunt is concerned, block her number if possible. If not possible, contact her in writing, either by email or certified letter and tell her that you will not respond to any of her messages and to cease and desist under threat of a restraining order.
Edited to add: Welcome to JWN.

US Politics - please read
by Simon inwe're already being innundated with the drivel that is the us political process.. propaganda, right and left.
no one wants to discuss or debate, they just want to shout in each others faces.. so, here's the rules:.
you can discuss politics as long as you are discussing things.if you just post copy-and-paste propaganda it will be deleted.if you post it in anywhere but the politics area it will be deleted.if it's the inane "obama can't prove he was born" or "romney is an alien" crap then it will be deleted.if you repeatedly violate the above, including trying to get threads shut-down, then you will be deleted.this has been a public service announcement on behalf of the "i dont' give a shit, the government always gets elected" party.. .

Romney is rumoured to be an alien? I never heard that before, so I Googled it. For those of you who don't know and are curious, word is he's an alien to the planet, not the US. That's why I love JWN...you learn something new everyday! For the record, I'm a Democrat and will be voting for Obama but not because I think Romney is an extraterestrial, LOL!

It makes me sad.
by Matsimus inrecently, when saying goodbye to my grandmother, who i only see a few times a year, she started tearing and said something that made me very sad.
she said she had to tell me that the door to jehovah's kingdom is closing at any moment now, and that if i didn't do anything now, it would be to late.
to her, she is facing an eternity without her grandchildren and it makes her very sad.

My response would be, "Grandma, instead of worrying so much, why not thank Jehovah that you haven't been appointed judge and that Jehovah reads hearts."
