new to JWN
by Brad Wilson inhave been a member of jwr since 2008 and have not been to hall since june 2009, have celebrated 2 yrs without memorial - woohoo - that being said i have stopped by here frequently and decided yesterday to join your group.. it has been very enjoyable to read your stories as well as the other group i have been with, and so it just seemed reasonable to belong to both.. my story is no differant than all the others, the only thing is i was not born in.
that being said i also have no real issues with being an apostate (although i do believe it is used in the perjorative sense by the wt).. peace - brad.

Reference Needed - WT instruction in regard to medical privacy
by donuthole ini need help with a reference.
there was a watchtower article (or km?
) that talked about how a christian working for a hospital should act if they found out that another christian in the congregation had questionable medical treatment (an abortion?).

I wonder if this article has ever been provided to the US federal govrnment agency that oversees the HIPPA laws or to whatever agency/ies that are related to bar associations. It seems to me that all jws should legally be excluded from working in legal and medical fields.

Hilarious "wardrobe worksheet" in new YPA book!
by cedars induring a quiet moment i picked the latest ypa book down from my bookshelf.
it's pretty much stayed there since my relatives came back from the latest convention.
i couldn't bring myself to see the extent to which the society is now trying to claw its way into the lives of teenagers.

My answer would've been:
My standing is that I'm the daughter of your employer. If you cannot respect me as such, I would be happy to find a replacement for you and relieve you of your uncertainities.

New Mentality
by EmptyInside inno,i am not talking about being "mentally diseased",lol.
it's just wonderful to allow myself to have my own thoughts and opinions.. i'm still around family and some acquaintances who are witnesses.
and i cringe every time i hear a phrase or belief ,that now i realize is totally wacky.. for example: relatives talking about a newly reinstated man's unbelieving wife.

I hope the wife of that newly reinstated man shows him and his jw buddies where he can stick his headship!

Ex wants to bring kids to church
by jws inmy ex just texted me that my 9-year old daughter said that "daddy doesn't believe in god and that if there is a god, he hates kids".. i personally don't think that i ever said anything about not believing in god.
just that i don't know and if he does exist, the bible couldn't be his book.
as for hating kids, i have no idea where she got it.

So why did the organisation cause you anxiety or depression?
by TimothyT inin regards to my other post regarding attending counselling as a jw, i was wondering what it was about being a jw that caused you to be anxious, stressed or depressed?.
for me, i knew that the person i wanted to be was constantly being supressed by the wt.
there was a battle going on in my head between who i wanted to be and who they wanted me to be.

For me it was the tacit approval of domestic violence withn the congregation. Even when my life was in danger, the Watchtower's answer was be a better wife and wait on Jehovah.
