i plan on finding as many media sites 'contact us' as i can in the next few days.
if enough of us email/phone/written bltz hit the tv and newspaper media asking for coverage of the story as it unfolds in the coming months, maybe someone will pick it up... anyone up for sending some emails?

My best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in June. The first test that indicated cancer was the CA125. Have you had that test? If not, please ask your doctor why not. It could give you peace of mind before the surgery. Her tumors were so huge that a hysterectomy couldn't be performed, so she started chemotherapy. She's doing great, by the way.
Good luck. Just take it easy after the surgery. And as far as not having paid time off, remember that you'll be spending less money by not working, (gas, car maintenance, lunch, etc).

Is this Watchtower comment about the Slave a lie?
by jwfacts inin the question from readers, watchtower 2011 8/15 p. 22 it made the following comment:.
"we thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know.
the governing body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones.".

Um...didn't Watch Tower attorneys just admit in Austrailian court that the faithful and discrete slave doesn't exist?

What percentage of assmbly experiences are total fabrication?
by NoRegrets inwhen i was in 4th grade, i ended up in a situation involving minor school politics.
they had developed a "student council" which did little more than sell pencils at lunch time for fundraisers.
anyway, i was appointed by the teacher and didn't think much of it as an 8-9 year old.

There's been many threads on this throughout the years. Your mom, like many others, was probably encouraged to fabricate the story. If the stories aren't fabricated, then huge chunks of the truth are deleted from these "experiences". For example, after I was df'd I heard that my mom was chosen to relate an "experience" about her unbelieving husband opposing her and later becoming a jw himself. I wondered to myself if she bothered to mention that said husband molested her 12-year old daughter, mentally tortured her son, and that her daughter grew up to marry an abusive jw and was df'd in her attempts to flee the violent man who was threatening to kill her. Probably not.

Newbie to the Boards !
by TheOutSpoken1 inid like to introduce my self as im new......a lil nervous but ready to have some conversation that doesnt require me to rely on old men in ny to think for me.
im tired of the puppetteering, the sly green handshakes to move up, the lies turned into new light- "what happened to yes means yes?
", just has the makings of a bad ponzi scheme in my opinion...i officially begun my fade this year.....and im enjoying it.

Welcome! Tell us your story if you can. Born in or convert? What turned you against Crooklyn? Anything else you'd like to add?

Nope...use my real name and the sam avatar for everything I do on line. The Watch Tower has made it so I have nothing to lose, as my mom as shunned me for almost a quarter of a century.

Popularity Contest
by Voices ineverywhere i've gone, no matter what, there's always a 'popularity contest' (which i'm a loser to)... whether it was in the organization (based on how high you went up the chain of command or who you married for the sisters), the school system such as high school, college, etc.. or job.
who does the hardest work, who does what, when how.
even on this website.

Mr. Flipper is pretty popular. He's such a nice guy! OTWO seems to be too. Mrs. Jones, you're in the cool crowd too.

JW at work hitting on me!! (for real)
by Free!! inon another thread i mentioned i met some jws at work within the past 2 months.
well, 2 of them became particularly interested and getting to know me (a lady and a guy) the lady is really nice, and the only reason i know she is a jw is because she mentioned something about no b-days or christmas and that was it... she has not tried to preach to me or anything.... .
on the other hand... this young guy, well he is making sure he becomes my friend, asked me to be my fb friend and messages me everyday at work or on fb... now the funny thing is he told me he is a jw and about 3 times already he had suggested i read my bible (whenever i post status about being bored or unable to concentrate on homework), well yesterday he sent me a message that said "i would like to talk to you tonite, maybe we can hit it up" my reaction was .

Maybe he's a fader or newly awakened and really likes you. Why not hear what he has to say? Whether he's out to convert you or date you, you can let him down easily.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. My experience with "worldly" people hs been just the opposite. They're usually fascinated by cult stories. I'm wondering if you either went to a religious school like BYU or if your college was located in the Bible Belt. Also I'm curious to know how long ago this rejection took place. It seems that religion was much more important in the past than it is now to the general population.

Would the holy spirit appoint an elder this stupid? Not likely!
by venusinfauxfurs inyou learn something new in the kingdom hall every week.... .
i told an elder that i'm not going out in field service yet but god knows why that is and it's between him and i (translation: jehovahs witnesses are not the truth and it's a colossal waste of time) and i assume the elder took it to mean i want to do it but can't for some reason because he said "jehovah doesn't know that though.
he has to see you out there in field service to know that you're serious.
