  Another Elder Suicide?

  well it looks like a southern ontario elder just took his own life.

  i cant go into details as we live in a very small world in "the truth" and even the smallest amount of detail on this one could quickly connect this to me, so for now its on the d-low.. it is a relative of a very close friend and he is godsmacked by it.

  he said to me, " we sure seem to be seeing more of this lately arent we?

  last summer convention '06 i felt the first time in my life like commiting suicide for real. not only think about it. i felt like going literally crazy. three days programming but knowing it, three days crying through the night. crazy shit. i recovered fortunately and can see things much clearer now.

  BEST Watchtower analogy I have ever seen!

  you can see it on a picture on the may 1, 2007, pages 24-29)(youths goals honor god) watchtower on page 26!.

  watch carefully what the girl is doing and what she is drinking....... this has symbol character.

  if this isn't on purpose, than it is the best analogy to what the wt means to your life..... redpill.. could someone please scan that picture and post it here????

  How do Jews view 607 /587 debate?

  the jw's use the prohecy of daniel etc to get to 607 as the date jerusalem fell.

  i know the jews accept 587 as the correct date.

  so how do they view the calculation of the prophecy, of 'ol king neb and babylon etc?.

  btw, i think the main problem in that debate isnt that 607 is wrong.
  the problem is that there are dozens of possible dates if you take the bible alone. you cant know what is right. plus the date which is used to calculate back can be wrong too. for the same reasons why the 587 date is wrong in JW believe.

  lets face the facts:

  • all the worldy science points to 587... (lets say they are all wrong, knowledge of men is nothing, yada, yada)
  • the bible can suggest many dates (but the 607 one is so much more logical, yada, yada, yada)
  • the bible doesnt contain dates, so the worldy 537 date as the date when the jews went back can be false too (but its scientific prooooofed, yada, yada)
  • the bible doesnt encourage anyone to calculate such dates, instead it discourages! Matthew 24:23, 36 (its not meant this way, yada, yada)
  • are the calculations which lead to 1914ideas of MEN or GOD? decide yourself. (god, because the WTS is the FADS, yada, yada)
  • is it smart to build up a beliefsystem on such a weak basis? regardless of if it is right or wrong in the end.

  at this point you can start argueing about what it means to have an organizations which claims to be gods channel and chosen by jesus (which is based on the 587/607 problem again) and because of that teaches the truth but in the same time cant be judged by wrong things they teach and want other to believe unquestioned because they are imperfect.

  i decided to read for myself the articles my father and mother were reading during this interesting time in witness history.

  i stumbled upon the following paragraph that scared the bejeezus out of me: .

  "one thing is absolutely certain, bible chronology reinforced with fulfilled bible prophecy shows that six thousand years of mans existence will soon be up, yes, within this generation!

  its incredible how this and other scriptures fit to the jws... who doesnt respect life and indirectly slays men with a completely misinterpreted and blasphemic blood policy? Who do not speak truth in any time? Who lies over and over again? Who speaks for his own disposition? its so easy to spot...

  Baptism at age 11 next Saturday

  i just learned that one of my grandsons (whom i've never met) will be baptized on saturday.

  he will be twelve in november.

  what's happening within the publishing company to inspire this sort of thing?

  There is no way under the sun that a 9 year old knows what it means to dedicate their life to anything. They are going to make the same mistakes that everyone else does while growing up and going through all the changes that being a teenager involves. And this 9 year old did just that. But the Witnesses magnify their youthful indiscretions and make private matters public.

  If I had to choose an age, I would say follow Jesus' example and wait until you're 30. God didn't mind him waiting until then and he was perfect. I was still not ready to make that decision in my early twenties, in my opinion.

  so true, my friend. my parents did not protect me from that abuse also. i was baptized with 14. still waaaay too young. even TODAY i would be too young! 30 is just perfect.

  the main problem is that children are baptized in a religion in a beliefsystem that they CAN NOT examine. no alternate information and no chance to aquire info at that age.

  the only chance for the WTS to survive is to lock up the kids before they can access the internet with a open mind.

  wasnt that the one true religion because they dont do pagan practices like baby baptism? HA HA HA!

  Last Night an Elder called me,,,,but

  i didn't answer the telephone, i just didn ' t feel like getting all riled up as i have enough on my plate right now.. it was the same elder who showed up at my bedside while i was recently in the hospital.

  i told the hospitals administration years ago to take my off the jw list for visitations.

  so i was quite shocked to see this guy.

  before you realised you were in one...... did you picture pale sickly people in robes who had all their members living in villages?

  or was your 'mental picture' a little more "human?".

  i looked at cults disgusted. and cults were for me almost anyone but the JWs. mormons, 7th day adventists and of course scientology.
  i was so glad that jehovah had saved me from this crazy world. its hard to accept that i wasnt saved but neck-deep in it.

  What's the worst thing that happened but you still made it to the meeting?

  no matter if you are tired,sick,worked late,heavy snow,or any other reason,you were never to miss the meetings.

  i went to a 2 day assembly with 4 teeth pulled the day before.

  my gums were bleeding all day but i still went to the assembly .there was a brother who was in a bad car accident the week before with his daughter in a coma.

  every meeting there are ones ill with a cold or something and sneezes and coughing but still attending. i hate that. makes the meetings a bacteria mothership all the time.

  Are You Afraid Of Death?

  i'm not afraid at all.

  i'd like to experience a full life, and do the things i want to do before i die, but death itself just doesn't frighten me.. i was unconscious for several hours last night as i slept, and experiencing nothing feels absoluely fine.

  before i was born, i went through the same thing- nothing (for several billion years or more infact).
