  thankyou so much for all the good wishes you have sent us in the last few days, trev has been printing up the emails, pms and threads, and bringing the cards to show me every day, and i get a lift every time i see him coming in with more of your lovely messages to read.. it's been a tough time for both of us, and it won't get any easier.

  i am dreading chemo, to be honest, but i have to bear it, as i would anything that gives me hope.

  but that's for monday, and i am going to enjoy myself as much as i can this weekend.

  So glad that you are home!!!! Please make Trev get some rest he can't take care of you and keep us informed if he's drained!!!!

  Do they make this confusing just to discourage member from taking blood? Like saying it's ok but... then the patient is so confused about what is acceptable that the just say no to all of it to be on the safe side???

  Q for doctors out there?

  since rheumatoid arthritis is an auto immune disease, why don't people with this problem get immuno suppressors, like people who have had transplants?

  wouldn't this stop your body attacking its own cartilage?.

  i had a flare up today, and i can barely sit upright at the 'puter.. what triggers these sudden stiffenings?.

  I think Msmcducket said it all!!!

  I also have osteoarthritis, I take 800mg of Ibuprofen three times a day, and on really bad days or when it flares up really bad I have percocet.

  Unfortunately, long term use of NSAID's can cause kidney failure, long term use of Tylenol can cause liver failure, and long term use of narcotic pain meds can cause dependence!!!

  Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Just have to be carefull and have regular follow-up with MD.

  Also, for those of you taking prednisone (steroids) this is a bone depleting medication. Make sure your physician orders a baseline bone density scan to make sure it's not having any adverse effects on your bones. I work in the Osteoporosis treatment and prevention center, we also do studies for various drug companies. If anyone has questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!

  okay, historically my mother has always called me and jim and our kids on all of our b-days - always, we've been married 14 years and she's never forgotten and neither have my siblings, until this year.

  this year she has decided that she can no longer continue her tradition, it isn't right.

  this year she has decided to get religious on us.
