Get some rest, use ice or heat whichever feels the best but for only 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Do you have pain meds or just taking over the counter stuff?

What birthday age depressed you the most?
by FreedomFrog inmy birthday is coming up in a month.
i'm 35 and i'm so depressed about turning 36. i've heard people really get down when they were turning 25, 30, and other ages but non of my birthday's bothered me this much until now.
turning 36 is so depressing and i think it's because here i am single again trying to now start my career, my credit, my whole life over.

Birthdays don't depress me at all, never have. I look at it as another year wiser another day gained to live and love my family and friends and generally speaking to celebrate just being here, waking up every day is a gift no one is guaranteed so we should enjoy each one we get!

Posting Here: secretly or openly?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower injust curious, how many of you have to hide the fact that you post here from family?
i'm especially thinking of those with spouses who are in, while they themselves either never were, faded, dfed/daed, etc but if you are a child hiding it from parents, that applies too.
if you are posting secretly, how secretive do you have to be?

No me, no hiding necessary. Everyone who needs to know, knows that I am totally against the Jehovah's Witness Organization 100%.
Hell, my brother's don't even go there with me anymore. Parents still try to throw in a couple words of encouragement (brainwashing) every now and again, but I usually let it go in one ear and out the other. At times, when I'm in a bad mood or just don't want to hear it, I throw something back and they shut up!
It's funny tho, one of my brother's, every time I talk to him he has to mention how busy he is in the ministry, or how he was just handling some paperwork for the congregation, or his wife's pioneering, blah blah blah. I guess it could be worse, as some here already know and live it! Lucky me for no shunning from parents and siblings?

SURPRISED AND SHOCKED
by Raphael inmy dad passed away in december and i had to fly to south africa for his funeral.
both my parents and just about all the extended family are devout witnesses.
the funeral talk was held at the local kh.

Elder finally said something to my roommate last night about the sex cases
by oppgirl63 ina month or so ago, my roommate wrote a letter to the po of her congregation about the lawsuit settlements - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/134349/1.ashx.
last night, before the meeting started an elder told her not to believe everything she reads on the internet.
she knows it's true but needs some legal documents to show them.. the article she gave them when she wrote the letter was from the houston chronicle.

I had the same thought as sweetpea, get an original of the newpaper that ran the article, Hell give them the entire paper if necessary this way they won't think she "made it up on the net". Idiots
They just expect people to say ok, I won't believe anything I read or hear only what the BOE, GB, FDS tells me

Non-JW Family
by Wordly Andre ingrowing up, we were only allowed to associate with our jw side of the family, over the past 10+ years i have been getting closer to my "worldly family' all i have to say is man i didn't know i had such loving, normal family.
it was a little too late when i started to visit my grandfather, he died shortly after my attempts to connect.
however, it was really weird at first, getting to know cousins, aunts and uncles who i've always had such limited contact with, i feel really pissed off about it, i have such a great family that i missed out on, i am now writing once a week to my uncle who is in iraq, and trying to keep contact with everyone, and even meet some cousins who i never met before, but i feel like someone who arrived late to the party.. does anyone else have the same kind of story?

Yeah, my dad is one of 9 and my mom one of 13. We only associated with 1 uncle and his wife, 3 kids because they were JW's.
I feel like I missed out on so much, not having such a large family around to grow up with. We visited for one week in the summer and that was it. Not much time to build relationships.
