  Do you expect the man in the marriage to be strong.

  my mother-in-law had surgery recently and when ever she does go through medical issues, it brings up something i wonder about.

  you see, i think the man or husband, in the relationship needs to be strong at those moments.

  to be the person who people can look to for updated information, perhaps to be the pillar of strength to keep everyone calm in a rough situation and so on.

  I find it's the higher self-esteemed women who are more attracted to men like this. Lower self-esteemed women are the ones who enjoy the constant attention and affirmation of men who devote their lives to pleasing women.

  Nos, I have to disagree with you on that. Take a couple more years like 10 to mature a little and you may change your mind. A woman with high self esteem doesn't need a man to make them feel like a woman or do anything else for them.

  They especially don't want a man that attempts to control or demean them.

  I didn't say anything about dieing, I said I predict he'd be a lonley man. But then again I'm sure there is some woman out there that is so beaten down, with no self esteem or self respect that would be willing to put up with a man that thinks that way. She'll allow him to treat her as property instead and continue to have no self esteem or self respect.

  Maybe if and when he grows up and matures he'll think differently.

  There is someone for everyone I guess!

  I've had a theory about women being, you know, assets. You either are worth something intrinsically or you're capable of producing something intrinsically. But in the end, it belongs to me, in exchange for love. It's kind of like on the farm. When the wife went and sold eggs in town, the money wasn't hers. It belonged to the farm. Nowadays, women have jobs and they think the money is theirs. Hogwash. And don't forget, you need to be able to do the dirty work and be beautiful doing it. If not interested, don't PM.

  i know that a lot of jws are very proud of being jws, but ever since i can remember i would be very quiet about it.

  i wouldn't announce it at school or work.

  i would shy away from the subject.

  Yes! I never told anyone I was a JW. In fact I spent most of my teenage years trying to prove I wasn't, needless to say it got me in a lot of trouble with my parents and of course the Elders!

  Now I proudly announce that I am an ex-JW or that my parent's are but I'm not!

  I had a patient the other day and it was her birthday. So I said happy birthday are you doing anything special tonight, she said oh I'm a JW. I looked at her with a sad expression and said, oh I'm so sorry Her response to me was why do you say sorry? Me: Because I was raised as one, tough start for a kid. She gave me a puzzled look, I told her to enjoy her day and she left!

  Pseudo Thanksgiving - Everyone doesn't have to work....Lets cook a turkey!

  how many people or their families, friends etc.

  would have a turkey on or around thanks-giving and say they weren't celebrating they were just having dinner.. my mother and her friends would get a free turkey around tg time and they would cook it on thanks giving because everyone was home from work.. its not celebrating... its just turkey!!!.

  Yup, mom would get the free Turkey from work and we'd have our "it's not Thanksgiving" dinner. She would wait until Sunday tho, we'd never do it on Thursday.
