ok, this morning i was getting ready to take my 8yo to school, he normally walks with his older brother but his feet have been hurting him lately so he asked if i could drive him then he asks me if two neighbor girls can ride with us.
i said yes and after a few minutes i asked my son why they needed a ride.
he said because they didn't feel like walking.
Kids around 8 years old should already know how to be polite and respect adults. Neither should the responsibility for teaching them have to come from someone outside of their immediate family. Parents should teach their own children the bare basics of living in a civilized society, and not assume they have the right to inflict their surly brats on others.

i don't think one or two letters will work, but a lot?

My kids friends were always told by my kids that when they enter the house, the car or their parents presence they were to speak! Never have I had to correct a kids behavior because my kids got their friends in check before we even had to say a word.
I guess they didn't want to be embarrassed Once my son brought over a girl and she was very shy and didn't speak when she came into the house, well she spoke but no one could hear it except him, he told her if you want to come over again you better speak to my moms and pops so they can hear you They are not together any more but she still call me to say hi
Mrs. J - you did the right thing. If you expect a certain behavior from someone you have to let them know. Kids aren't stupid and they try to get away with things especially if their parents allow a particular behavior. My theory is, just because your parents allow it doesn't mean I will. If you don't like it, go home or get a ride with YOUR parent.

for all those that read my post from the other day, i have been asked that if i am to miss any meetings i must call one particular elder per his request.
so on sunday i woke up and decided to stay home from the meeting and test my theory that this guy is on a power trip.
i "had a headache" which in all reality was a small hangover from the night before.
Tell him that the last time you checked you were a grown man and that you don't need to report your absense to him or anyone else! The nerve of these @$$holes

ok, i'm always online looking for jobs in the fashion industry, though there weren't much in that catagory in indiana.
the pickings are slightly better here in california but most of the jobs are in southland.
so i'm looking at this one fashion job site that's pretty good and i find that a community college in stockton is hiring fashion instructors.

this past saturday morning, i was walking through downtown guelph ontario when i saw 3 ppl standing on corners of an intersection with what i instantly recognized to be watchtowers in their hands.
while i was at an atm, i watched them approach various strangers and i started to get excited, thinking about what i would say to them when approached.
(1 middle aged woman 1 teenage girl and 1 man - interestingly, i first doubted the man was a dub because he had no jacket, blue shirt, orange tie, and had a cell phone attached to his belt - i cant imagine ever being allowed in service with a visible cellphone.).
They really don't want to talk to anyone, just counting and wasting time, imo. If they approach me I always just say I don't read cult literature and keep walking. I don't waste my time trying to talk to jdubs about their cult.

like an awful lot of people on this site i have spent far to much time trying to rationalise my thoughts and my journey as a human being.
i have been to places of deep despair and resurfaced looking the same, months or even years later but the internalised paul changed.
with this in mind let me ask you something, humour me for a moment.
