  Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?

  i'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.

  i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.

  i work very hard not to use foul language.

  I've said it before and I'll say it again - JW's are not the only people on this earth who have good manners, dress well, are polite, are willing to help others, are honest, don't use bad language...etc...;.

  When I was growing up in the jdubs, they were worse than the "wordly kids", they cussed more, had more sex, drank, just to name a few, then they would sit in the KH with there watchtowers and awakes and act like good little dubbies!!! I hated it.

  For the most part JW's are not different than anyone else, they eat, sleep, piss, and shite just like the rest of us, the only difference is that they think they are better than everyone else!!

  NO I DON'T STILL HAVE JW WAYS, AND HOPE TO GOD I NEVER DID!!!

  Funny story about a funeral

  my uncle died last month (father's side), so i mustered up the courage to attend the funeral; he was never baptised and i was never disfellowshipped so folks still talk to me thinking i'm da not realizing i'm a full flegged apostate-this has since changed as i've decided to come forward since then.

  so the elder gets up and gives the funeral sermon complete with many of the bible myths talking snake and all... sounds like a damn bad acid trip.

  so after the graveside service one of my old friends i haven't seen in 17 years comes up and says "did you learn anything by todays sermon'?

  Dawg,

  I feel a connection with you in the way you handle dubs, I also have no tollerance (sp?) for them and could very well see myself saying the same thing.

  My feeling is why play a game with them? I just don't have the energy to smile and be polite to people who can't give me any respect for my personal views. For awhile my fram of mind was "you are entitled to your view", just respect my view, sounds easy right?? Not for dubs, they continue to try to ram this cult down your throat at every chance they get, so now I give it right back to them.

  You will never hear me make excuses for them! Good job!!!

  Yesterday - felt baby move for first time outside of megan

  megan and yes even me both felt the baby move for the first time outside of her, so it was my first time.

  its really amazing, and we have the second scan on the 20th which is when we find out the sex unless its legs are crossed again.. .

  I use to put the remote control on my belly and watch it move!!! It seems like my son was trying to kick it off or something!!

  i thought it would be polite if i just introduced myself.

  i am a former jehovah's witness that left studying a few years back for the purpose of solace and grace in my life, freedom from the hypocrisy of men, and the teachings which the bible does not correspond with.

  i have since adopted a more simple way of living, and no longer have to worry about ring around the collar, or that book study that i never read ahead for.

  as you all know by now i am a jw backer, and in the first week on here i have gone back and forth with people.

  alot of people on here have a problem with all the rules.

  in my opinion i dont think they were too hard to follow and most of it was stuff that you shouldnt be doing anyways.

  Unlike the BORG - in the real world you are allowed to have your own opinions about everything and so does everyone else!! You have the right to be an individual, and expressing your individuality.

  By the same token not everyone will always agree with your opinions, so when others disagree or give their opinions, don't take it personally, we are just giving our view points.

  so what was one thing that significantly preoccupied your mind today or part of today something you thought a lot about?

  for me it was handing over some work on a deadline which comes up next week.

  i can't go over even by one day so i better be on time.

  did anything exciting or alarming ever happen at your hall?

  i remember only funny incidents, like one brother getting up there with his zipper down.

  (i knew alot of brothers after that felt no shame to actually check down there before going up on the podium!

  Congregational Meals on Wheels

  when i was an unbeliving husband my ex had a serious health issue (cervical cancer) and lots of "sisters" would bring my three kids and i lots of meals.

  it was one of the things that really impressed me.

  anyone know if things like that are still done?

  It's not just JW's that do this but other religions and churches also lend a helping hand when a member is sick, disabled or just having emotional problems.

  I don't think JW's have the market on this one!

  i want to thank all of you for your words of wisdom and support during my breakup with my jw ex-boyfriend.

  i honestly don't know how i would have handled the last few weeks without having this forum.

  i had reached the point where i had no where else to turn.

  Had The Chat With My Mother

  spilled the beans yesterday.

  told her i was never going to another meeting again.

  knew it wouldn't be too hard going as she's always had a few doubts herself, what i didn't appreciate was just how many she had and how hard she was finding it as she is developing a great social life with 'wordly' friends!!
