  Flat Stanley

  guys my little one is doing a "flat stanley" project..... if you've never read the kids book, it's about a boy who has been flattened by a falling bulleting board.

  written in the 60's.

  the best part about being flat, is, you can mail yourself to your friends in an envelope.

  i like this topic!

  1. i went to an amusement park with friends when i was 17, when getting ready to go on the bumper boats the attendant told me to not step on the rubber part... listening wasn't my strong suite so i stepped on the rubber part and fell in much to the amusement of everyone there.

  2. for my 18th birthday my friends took me to see male strippers, my friend held money over my head and when the guy came to collect i refused to put it in his g-string and he called me a prude.

  Observed an autopsy

  Performed CPR on a 6 month old baby that was thrown through the windsheild of a car (no carseat)

  Dressed up and won 1st place prize at a holloween party ($100.00). I was a syringe

  i stopped believing when my husband left us because my daughter no longer wanted to attend meeting, and he was a elder.

  had to seek assistance from the government to buy food and pay bills.

  he took all monies with him.

  I'm not sure I ever believed in the JW religion. I was born and raised in and always hated everything JW from personal/family study to assemblies.

  I stopped believing in god when I prayed for him to help me make my mother love me and he didn't. Just figured he either didn't like me, didn't want to help me or didn't care. The older I got I just started believing there was not such thing as god.

  Difference? Nasal spray is a live virus and the injection is not a live virus. Chances of getting the flu from the nasal spary is higher than the injection. I always get the injection - I'm a nurse.

  Best remedy for any type of cold or virus get plenty of rest and fluids if you have fever that does not respond to Tylenol you need to see a doctor. Not a bad idea to see a doctor if your symptoms are not better in 48 to 72 hours with almost anything. Only cure for cold and virus is time, rest and fluids, sorry no magic pill.

  Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?

  i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.

  there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

  Off to the one day special assembly day - what can I look forward to?

  i never attend any of the congregation meetings but to support my wife, i attend the assemblies and the memorial.

  tomorrow is the one day special assembly day.

  should i be getting excited?

  That's the point! It has nothing to do with Obama, but the McCain supporters and McCain and Palin themselves are playing very dirty. They will try anything to sway the voters.

  Fortunately the only voters they are swaying at the moment are the ones that already support them, they are playing to their base. Those that are undecided are obviously smarter than that and have more important issues that they want answered. Politics at it's best especially when you are down in the polls.

  Maybe it's different in my state, but when you go to the polls (you are assigned to a specific place to vote), they check your voter reg card, driver license or picture ID and cross your name off the list. How could anyone using the same name and address possibly vote in different locations in the same state.

  So what if it's a duplicate registration you can only vote one time! The person would be caught prior to voting multiple times. This sounds to me like more BS the repubs are digging up to blame on Obama everything is all his fault. Woke up today with a headache, blame Obama. Flat tire - blame Obama. Ran out of gas - Obama's fault

  That being said I am often accused of spoiling my children because I find the concept of buying presents all year round quite hard for non-JWs to take on board, there is definitely a 'Presents are only for christmas or birthdays' so i find my non-JW family get me no presents at all but ones that used to be JW's or still are do make an effort to buy presents outside of the allowed set events for them. One thing you do noticei s that as you say its not just the children that need set markers to do things by but adults too.

  You are the one making broad statements and not respecting what others say or do. In your mind through the WT's rosey glasses this is how everyone except JW's live. It simply is not true. Do you really think that when non-jw parents go to Walmart and their kids ask for a toy they so no wait for your birthday? or wait for Chirstmas? That is totally untrue and somehthing that JW's tell their kids to try and make them feel better.

  If you buy things for your kids all year long, ok so what you are doing the same thing most parents do. Nothing special about that, but in your mind it's set you apart from the non-jws because they don't. Your non-Jw family probably don't buy you presents because they think you wouldn't accept it, being no part of the world and all.

  Wow that sounds like it's straight out of the WT. That is the same thing my mom used to tell us, "worldly kids only get presents on their birthday and christman, you get them all year". Well that's Bull$hite, I brought my kids things all the time and everyone I know does the same thing. As a JW my parents were the biggest liars because we didn't get things all the time nor did we get things on holidays.
