  that CO was the one I was talking about: Albert Cobble. (I think this is him: yes????!!)

  Here's a story I heard from a local brother about that sales man. Albert and his wife had a trailer that he took to the congos. But he also had 2 apartments in the last circuit he stayed in, one at each end of the circuit. So he only needed the trailer when he was too far from the apartments. YET, he would hook his trailer up to the KH so he could run his AC/electrical and use it as his office (he said it was for circuit work, but they found out later it was for ACN/LCI phone.... that is nothing but a MLM scheme. they resell a legal service (phone) to keep it legit, but they make all their money recruiting people at $500 a pop to get in.....most people dont stay long enough to get the $500 back, so its all free money for the upstream reps (like Cobble and his son). ).... finally the local elders gave him the ultimatum..either use the apartment or the trailer when you serve the close congos, but not both...apartment was nice....so he chose that...they may have told him if he wants to use both, contribute to the utilites....

  I know how much he was bringing in (it was hundreds a week) because the local brother who told me this story would get the CO's mail for him and it was those window envelopes and you could see the amounts of the checks. I verified this story from an elder (that was privy to the investigation) myself.

  In the view of the local friends, he and his wife were money grubbers....by any standard... they took a vow of poverty to be in the Special Order of Full-Time Servants (SOFTS). I think that is why Legal might have been involved.

  The friends complained. But the Borg was taking their time. Apparently Legal was involved because of the SOFTS issue . Finally, and it took over a year of investigating, the Borg got a couple of DO's and a CO and they had a committee and gave him the boot. The upshot was that they were supposed to vacate the apartment immediately. They did not do so in time for the sub CO to stay there (they drove in from 90 min away), so the sub CO and his wife had to stay at a private home near the KH, use their own vehicle (because the CO was still using the leased circuit cart...to go to ACN sales meetings!)

  We should not be surprised.. The Borg created this monster with its Service Sales Meetings

  By the way, the above pic came from a Web site for TahitianNoni...yet another MLM scheme he and his son are into. (the noni juice works, but it is just a product to make the recruiting legal)...and if you are in MLM....tough! if its about recruiting, its crap. I can buy ACN service or Noni juice without becoming a rep.

  job loss

  as of august 1, mr.blackswan will join the ranks of the thousands of unemployed michiganders.. they are shipping his job, along with the rest of production to grand rapids, mi.

  which is 2 hours away.. my response was tears.

  fear is a big problem.. michigan is just not the place for jobs right now.. so, we are planning on having to look out of state.

  sorry to hear about the job loss. it can be scary. i was under/unemployed for over a year. still digging out from credit card debts from that.

  if you are moving out of state, you might try the st.louis MO area. jobs are more plentiful and pay better on the MO side of the river, but the real estate is better on the IL side. If you have kids, dont move into St Louis City....school just got deacredited....state take over....lots of good schools in IL.

  I post from home. No one here to bother me. I do field collections (put that good JW door knocking training to productive....read that PAID....purposes)....hassle people to pay their bills.

  I usually dont bother to start work until noon, earlier in the winter...I work when I want, mostly weekends. I work from home, but I do go into an office to drop off/pick up work....mostly I go in at night when no one is there, but last night I was lazy and was on JWD too long...so I had to go this morning when there are people around....meaning dealing with traffic (office is 45 min away)

  I read more than I post. I have a PT 1 day a week office job (I took just to do something different) and I never read/post on JWD even on lunch. I usually am too busy and take a short lunch and keep working because I like it.

  Shunned at Walmart

  the greeter was a woman i once called friend and who (unfortunately now) was baptized after studying with me for a year.

  when i walked in i was the only one coming through the door so it's not like she didn't see me, she turned away and ignored me...not wanting to lower myself to her level i simply got a shopping cart and went about my shopping, my first instinct was to report her to management for dereliction of duty but i thought better of that because my doing so would show her it upset me.

  i really owe her a debt of gratitude because it was at her baptismal talk that my first strong doubt that it was the truth finally penetrated my foggy brain, as i sat and repeated the baptismal questions to myself at the assembly when she was being baptized i realized they were not the same ones i answered in 1974, that started me on my journey out of the org.

  that was the right thing to do. you can have fun with them but really it just makes you like or worse than them. I just try to be kind to everyone (almost everyone, truly stupid people get the wrath of Mr. Snake.). Just remember you were a mindless dub once and would have done the same if you had been the greeter.   yeah, I dont like WallyWorld either. They built a StuporStore in the next town over. Our town voted no so they are building north of us. After Sam Walton died, the corp. went to hell. (it was in purgatory when he was alive). I prefer Target.

  absolutely. I still believe in God... or something more than us.....(despite some of my early posts debating otherwise.... I keep an open mind. My mom says the same type of things about "not neglecting your relationship with Jehovah." My response is always "My relationship with Jehovah is fine, its the relationship with moronic controlling men (elders) I have issue with and wont deal with them"

  The elders are not your mommy. Your ex- is definitely not your mommy (or your wife). Maybe the ex really cares, but do you need the turmoil? She left you as I recall. Now if you left completely and then she came around and said she was leaving the Borg too...that might be interesting... dont hold your breath.

  "handlers"....thats paranoia talking. I doubt someone is sitting there with her telling her what to say....But the JW mindset might be the voice on her shoulder, implanted over years and years. Next time she calls, tell her you appreciate her concern, but things are fine and they are between you and Jehovah. Then politely wish her good day and quietly hang up.

  just my opinion.... SnakesInTheTower (of the "1 Thessalonians 4:11" Sheep Class) .... go ahead, look it up, its my philosophy to live by....

  Can you choose which elders you wish to deal with ?

  lets say that there are 4 elders in your congregation, and you don't like 1 of them, don't trust another one, but like the 2 other ones for some reason.

  now lets say that the elders you don't like that much come over and want to speak to you, would they respect you if you said, "i prefer to talk to the 2 other elders instead".

  i get along with them better than you guys.. i compare this to a store.

  you can just blow them off anyway. they are not your mommy. they are the BorgElders.

  My problem is not with the elders in the congo I attend. It is a well meaning friend from an old congo who is an elder. Calling to "check on me" all the time. I think he must have gotten the message about "dont ask dont tell". I am not in his congo, so he has no jurisdiction. Now he does not call me for anything, social or otherwise. Friend?....I hope so.

  Goff was teaching (or getting ready to teach) MTS in Hawaii when he died...he was from KS...I think they sent some MTS brothers there. another nice guy....his death means he is free of the borg..... a real nice guy and a real loss to humanity (and I sincerely mean that)

  Paul Illingsworth is a DO and an MTS instructor last I heard. Was in Service at Patterson for a little while. Very interesting MTS brothers said he would write koene greek on the whiteboard during classes on the NWT. Appeared very prim and proper, but he had a fun sense of humor. I seen him in a pic during one MTS in his office with his feet on his desk, reading sports illustrated...big golf fan apparently. met him once, one of the genuinely nice guys in the Borg.

  Beltrami was/is in St. louis I think for awhile.

  here are some other names...anyone remember these fellas? Mel Branam from TX,,,was in MO/IL/WVA (retired to KS..dont know if he is still alive or not), Harley Breneman, Les and Joanie Bailey (real decent guy...had a heart attack or something in Colorado. I think he is in CA now). Albert Cobble (That idiot was selling LCI/ACN phone service while serving as CO ...made a ton of money, wife sold t-shirts she designed out of their trunk...always dropping hints to the friends to buy them things....money grubbers....got booted out of circuit work finally..think he is carolinas now), Michael Emilio ..still single CO (from 1st class of MTS...served NV and IL, now in Italian circuit east coast), Dan Walke (was in WI/IL, now I think in KY) Robert "Yukon Bob" Hartman (served as CO for 16 years in Alaska..see 84 YB)....then District work...IL/MO, OH,...then had health problems...heard he was in CA in Circuit again....still single....ought to be 80 by now...another real nice guy.

  just a few names that come to mind.

  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  is this the brother who went to illinois (vandalia)? still JW last i heard, might be pioneering. I think he and his wife moved a couple years ago to oklahoma where they have family? i think his daughter (joanna?) married a bethelite. son Jeremy was in mexico in english congo last i heard? not sure if thats the same brother. he was involved with QB in drywall in illinois.
