  Specific banned shows, songs, etc...?

  i know the society tells people not to listen to rock n roll cause its from teh satan, not to watch r rated movies because they're "worldly", etc.

  but i was wondering if folks had any specific instances where one song, one show, one movie, or whatever was singled out as being particularly 'evil', and banned on an individual basis?

  i was never a jw, but was in the worldwide church of god...the two are rather similar, i've seen many (and made quite a few myself) comparisons on the board; and i can remember as a child that every once in a while certain things would get brought up as being more evil and worldly than others.. examples of specific bans:.

  Please help me understand new blood policy...

  hello everyone, i just need some help and maybe a history lesson about the wt's current blood policy, and how it differs from the past.

  i was discussing this with my wife (inactive dub) and she said the wt has always allowed blood fractions.

  is the current fraction amount nearly equal to whole blood?

  Abandoned, Wow, thanks for posting that. There was alot of info I didn't know there. I think I am going to be sick though. It's just plain disturbing how many lives this "religion" has ruined with thier changing doctrine. I am so glad I got out. My only hope is that more of the rank and file "Sheeple" wake up to these facts. No wonder the WTS doesn't want them reading the net sites. And the so called "Apostates" are really only using thier own publications against them. Faded-out

  AATW, Cool, I didn't know that the Liger actually existed. It's cute. Just trying to be funny, that movie "Napolean Dynamyte" was so stupid, in a funny way. OK, then I will change my favorite mythical creature to The Mothman.   Blondie, I guess that means we must all go back to the borg, before t's too late. I mean if the WTS printed it, it must be right...lol.

  Megsmomma, I actually had a conversation with a dub once about that, how I just could never accept that this loving god of thiers would kill babies and children. I said "the thought of that makes me sick, doesn't it make you sick?" They said "No, most children these days grow up to be bad people anyways and they deserve it"

  I almost puked. I can't believe that I actually though that way once. I'm so glad I'm out of that religion.

  That actually was one of my biggest doubts with the WTS. I never could quite believe that 1 10th of 1 percent (.01%) of everyone one this planet were to be the only ones to survive. It just never made sense to me. I guess, especially since most of JW kids were as bad or worse then the "worldly" ones I knew.

  i'd really love to see what people think, there might even be people who think the same thing.. as jw's we got every single little thing rammed down our throats right?

  so, we had set beliefs or answers for everything- does god exist?, are there aliens?

  I wanted to say that I totally agree with you Paul. I am open to the possability of anything until it is proven false.
  I guess, that this open mindedness is one of the reasons I left the borg. They are so the opposite.
  There is so much in this universe that we don't understand and may never understand.

  i logged into this site today and the first topic i had opened was one by misanthropic regarding strange things we eat.

  i was appauled by the comment made by the first person to comment.

  i have a good deal of respect for men and twice that for the female gender.
