I am a inactive Jehovahs witness and I hate the religion I was born into.. She will be shunned for being with a worldly guy. Jehovahs witnesses believe that all non Jehovahs witnesses are part of Satan's world. Either you convert, or she will lose her entire family and friends. I suggest you make a ultimatum to her, that she is happy to be your girlfriend and regardless and will not force you to change. Even If she remains with you and gets disfellowshipped and you marry and she returns to the jw cult you will have tumultuous relationship. Jehovahs witnesses do not respect non believers and it's always their way, your way will be considered satanic. You will have fights over holidays, medical treatments and social associates and many more etc...

Can an atheist date jw?

first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.
i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

If a jw ends up marrying a non believer the family unit usually suffers. For example the non believer wants to hold a birthday party for their kids, the jw mate is to refuse to be involved and protest against it. Usually the kids are used as pawns. Eg the jw partner will tell the kids that Jehovah hates birthdays, etc. The kid then feels obliged to please Jehovah because they don't want to be killed.
If your girlfriend still believes in it, even just a smidgeon of it, you are in for a very troubled union.
If She secretly tells you its all Bullshit and is just in it for family then you will have a good chance of a normal life. Even then she will still have worry about being dobbed in for celebrating birthdays, Christmas etc etc. Once baptised you are always tied to their policies, regardless of them being inactive.
It's a cult and once in you can't leave without harsh consequences.

If someone breaks up or no longer wants to be with you because you refuse to join their religion, I'd say that person is not worthy of you. Don't you want someone who loves you for you?
This lady is willing to do naughty things with you in secret which she knows her religious beliefs goes against it, she knows that she has gone against the watchtower cults mandates, yet she is willing to hide her naughtiness from the elders yet she still gives you a ultimatum of either becoming a witness or lose her. She sounds like a very selfish deluded brainwashed fool. She can do naughty things and protect her image and that is why she wants you to be a witness. So she can look squeaky clean and marry you and no one will know she almost fornicated and did naughty things with a non believer. She gets to marry you if you become a jw and still look squeaky clean.
From experience these type of jehovah's witnesses are the worst. After they have cleared themselves of their sins they become hardcore cultists. Extreme to the core that they are unbearable.
True experience. A jw elder was committing adultery for 10 years. He got found out and was disfellowshipped. He became reinstated with his newly converted wife who he was having the affair with. They are now the 2 most judgemental, die hard jw's. They are extreme into their cult worship. It's like they become extreme once their sins have been cleared because they feel the need to gain approval. They become unbalanced.
Here is what will happen if she marries you.
She marries you and gets reproved or disfellowshipped. She is still indoctrinated and the shunning will be hard to bear. So she gets reinstated. Going back to meetings she will be reindoctrinated and become fanatical because of her guilty past. This means she will treat you as a second class citizen. Meetings, assemblies and witnessing will be her first priority.
She will not participate inany of your holidays. Birthdays and will not even attend church celebrations with you ( Eg weddings)
You will fight because she will not compromise.
Your life will be a living he'll if she doesn't leave the religion. There is no compromise with jehovah's Witnesses. It's their way all the way and you will be the worldly wrong one.
By all means try and wake her up. If she doesn't it's better you leave the relationship. It will be heartache all the way.
You have to remember their intelligence has been stolen by the cult. Their brains are not their own. They are owned and manipulated by a very powerful totalitarian cult that commands their thoughts.

Fuck this cult. And as much as I love my family, they are brainwashed to the point of being completely programmed by the cult. Any negative feedback or exposure about their beliefs they get all get glassy eyed and wash the negativity out of their brains. I was once like this, I admitt I was a brainwashed uneducated dumbed down drone. Then one day I allowed my self to question and research.
I hate to say this but jehovah's witnesses lack any real intelligence.
Jehovah's witnesses are trained to be dumb. They are told what to believe, and what to read and to never criticise and never have any negative thoughts of the cult. intelligent people are made to comply and eventually lose their real intelligence. Born ins have it a lot worse, they weren't given the chance to develop intelligent thinking skills. I was a born in, dumb as batshit because I was a jehovah's witness. Which discouraged me from questioning, openly accept negativity and prevented me from doing unlimited research, let's not forget the big anti university stance or higher education. Forcing and praising young ones to quit school and pioneer which encouraged us to rely on government handouts.
I was told to believe and I did.
Well I broke free from them, I see seemingly intelligent people in the cult and realise they are dumbed down because of this cult.
Jehovah's witnesses have a stupid meme going around stating to not type jehovah's witnesses into google but to go directly to jw.org. What does this tell you about their "intelligence"?

RC Was Worse Than I thought...
by JW_Rogue ini was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.
now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".
some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".
