i mean, i know i'm bitter.. normally these days quite strong, not feeling so much so much the last few days though.. what i'd give to do the things i was used to.
going doing the weekly shop with my mum, her popping round for a brew in the morning.. a hug from her, just to to know from the way she communicated with me, that she loved me.

last night hubby told me that his brother (an elder) told him how "provocative" the outline for this sunday's special talk is.
apparently it's something like "who is qualified to rule mankind" and goes on about how government is not qualified.
he then asked me if i'd like to attend (ha ha).
This talk is interminably lame.

They have so completely backed away from 1914 and the 'generation seeing these things take place" that the old timers have got to be harboring some real doubts about the "proof" that we are living in the end times. There is NO PROOF based on any kind of chronological evidence the Borg has previously proffered in their publications or from the platform. The whole talk is so vague and non-specific that there is not a single date mentioned in ANYWHERE in the talk. So where is all the proof that we are living in the last days?
When I was still in, I heard more than a few "strong" Dubs make oblique references to the disappointment of the end not coming when the Borg predicted it, that I have to believe that there is a strong undercurrent of dissatisfaction. There may be some catalyst in the near future that triggers a groundswell of the dissatisfied to begin speaking and leaving.

The one good thing that came out of it were a few really funny / strange experiences.
Once, I started talking with an older woman at the door, and her husband was listening from beyond my view. She said something, and he yelled at her that she didn't know what she was talking about. She yelled back at him to shut up and leave her alone. Before I knew it they were having an all out fist fight in the doorway. So much for bringing a message of peace. I just quietly excused myself, but as I walked down the street I could hear them from 1/2 a block away.
Then there were always the women who would come to the door on a Saturday morning, barely dressed, with see through lingerie, and then pretend to be all embarrassed, trying to cover their breasts. I would always think to myself, "why did you open the door?"

I thought about that while I was formulating my comment. The thing is that Russell's investments were made so long ago and the Borg could never have sustained itself for so long without additional input of funds and especially "slave" labor. Without the continuous support of the R&F from the 1920s down to the present they would have folded long ago (IMHO).

That was great for a laugh...but then I started thinking.
I had a friend when I was a Dub, who ended up committing suicide. I never did peg the reason, but I know that like everyone else in the Borg, he probably felt like he could never live up to the unreachable standard they set. Whatever you do, it's never enough.
And, I wonder how many gay or lesbian Dubs, who knew they could never admit their sexual orientation, have ended up committing suicide?
The GB has blood on their hands....it really is too bad it's not their own, but instead the blood of innocents!!!!

I don't think there is any way around the fact that no matter where the money comes from (i.e., which specific asset of the Borg's) the bottom line is that everything the Borg has is sustained by the contributions of the R&F. Even if the argument is made that the source is their investments, the ultmate source of the money used to make the investments comes from the R&F.
They are a morally corrupt, deceitful, dishonest, and just down right slimy.
From the looks of things, they are probably using money from the sale of the Brooklyn properties, to stay liquid.
The whole pedophile scandal reeks of coverup, damage control, and shielding the average Dub from as much information as possible. Unless someone on the inside leaks the information to those on the outside, we may never know.

it had been 5 years or more since i even read a watchtower article after exiting the witness cult in late 2003. but i was curious to see if the new " witness only " watchtowers were more controlling than i remember them being 5 years ago.
and it certainly opened my eyes to the extreme control.

This is classic flawed logic. It reflects the same level of intelligence as the proverbial general who doesn't like the message (intelligence) so he kills the messenger, as if that will make everything okay.
I can see where they are going with this, though. It would not surprise me to see them use some kind of twisted argument that, just as witnesses testifying in a court of law are qualified by testimony about their character and truthfulness, so too the motives and truthfulness of the "messengers" exposing the shortcomings of the Borg should be subject to the same kind of careful scrutiny.
DAMN.... that sounds good....maybe I could get a gig writing that shit for them when they start outsourcing the writing.
