that's the conclusion i've reached.

i see persons who love being martyrs by going to the kingdom hall and not being able to literally breathe because they are allergic to perfumes and colognes, and they cough, their eyes water and they actually cry that no one cares about their plight-----but they still go and are "faithful" meeting attenders yet bitch and moan to anyone that will hear them.. then you get those that are handicapped and it's a huge deal to get into a car to go out in service and they cry that nobody really cares about them.. when an elder doesn't pick a person to comment, that martyr will dutifully go to the meetings, say the conductor doesn't like him/her and pray to jehovah for the strength to endure.. i swar, jws love feeling persecuted!.
The Dubs buy into the persecution complex so completely that it affects their mental health.
It is no surprise that there are such a disproportionate number of clinicly depressed Dubs compared to the general population.
They are a very sick bunch, indeed.
Glad I am out and mentally healthy.

yesterday i went home to see my best friend from my childhood.
we were always together, and when we got older he was the best man at my wedding, and i was his.

Actually, my best friend and I said our good-byes a long time ago and I was the one who stayed in the BORG. As time went on, I had to get out - it has been almost 11 years now.
The great thing is that my best friend and I resumed our friendship and we are still very close.
Your story, too, may have a similar ending. Don't give up hope.

often times, at work, my mind will wander.
just the other day, out of the blue, i began to recall a trip my family took down south, to visit my mom's relatives.
i don't remember what instigated it, but my aunt, my dad, and my oldest brother got into a spirited debate about whether or not people would still have sex in the new order.. my dad, after rather awkwardly pointing out how much he enjoyed sex, said he didn't think it would be done away with completely, at least he hoped not.
It is a moot question.
There will be no new order.
We are all animals just below the skin and sex is what animals do along with all of the other things animals do.
Sex will always be here.

they only reason they have put this big change on the cost of fuel is so that they can easily come back in a year or two - just when they think this wasn't such a good idea and they're losing even more control - and say that, "well, fuel isn't as expensive now, so let's start meeting again for the book study.

I agree that gas is a smoke screen for real reasons to axe the BS.
The BORG is in real trouble with the internet and the consolidation of the meetings is one more control mechanism to stifle independent thinking.
Hopefully, this will backfire.

are very fond of saying that appostates who post on the internet are like satan in eden hiding their identity just like the devil who used the serpent.. this begs the question why do the awake and watchtower writers need to hide behind the printing presses of the evil tower, what are they ashamed of or more to the point what is the govening body frightened of ?.
maybe the book club and rip off society are guilty of identity theft in not declaring the names of their writers..
I think that the anonymity is a shield for their collective dishonesty. It has already been shown how the Art Department has stolen images from the popular press (notably Stern magazine) and blatantly used them in the publications.
It wouldn't surprise me if they use thinly veiled material from other creationist organizations and arguments from some of the mainstream theologians in academia. It has already been shown on some other threads that the publications have used Behe's arguments and other material from the Discovery Institute.

When I was a teenager, I tried to pay attention and be serious, but there were some very hot young sisters in my hall and you know, a young man's imagination can run pretty wild.
After I got married, I had a fairly sparse sex life (in part, because of the BORG's constant sexually repressive message's effects on my ex) so I still spent a fair amount of time thinking about sex (there were lots of hot sisters in South Florida) and the conventions were an extra treat to see even more good looking sisters.
Oh well, thank god (the one I don't believe in), that I don't have to suffer through that shit anymore.

I used to believe the creationist line but a thorough and honest examination of the evidence can lead to no other conclusion than the fact that all life has evoloved and that life on earth has been here for billions of years.

it's truly exciting to see all of the "rapid fire" changes taking place in the watchtower org.
buildings are being sold, kingdomhalls are "compressing", bethelites are being sent home, watchtower format changing to public issues and private issues, more and more judicial committee meetings being held for apostasy.
(the watchtower is dead it just hasn't fallen over yet!
I hope so.
I left many friends in the BORG, and I can only hope that they will see the BORG for what it is and bail from the farcical joke that it is.

I 've been out for almost 11 years but I still find it exciting that so many people are fleeing the BORG and making their presence known on this board.
