  "Special" Talk Outline for this Sunday?

  last night hubby told me that his brother (an elder) told him how "provocative" the outline for this sunday's special talk is.

  apparently it's something like "who is qualified to rule mankind" and goes on about how government is not qualified.

  he then asked me if i'd like to attend (ha ha).

  Many believe that Jesus Christ existed, but few demonstrate faith that he is actually ruling as King

  Complete wishful, delusional thinking....

  They have so completely backed away from 1914 and the 'generation seeing these things take place" that the old timers have got to be harboring some real doubts about the "proof" that we are living in the end times. There is NO PROOF based on any kind of chronological evidence the Borg has previously proffered in their publications or from the platform. The whole talk is so vague and non-specific that there is not a single date mentioned in ANYWHERE in the talk. So where is all the proof that we are living in the last days?

  When I was still in, I heard more than a few "strong" Dubs make oblique references to the disappointment of the end not coming when the Borg predicted it, that I have to believe that there is a strong undercurrent of dissatisfaction. There may be some catalyst in the near future that triggers a groundswell of the dissatisfied to begin speaking and leaving.

  I hated it. I had myself talked into loving it for Jehovah's sake....but I really hated it.

  It was such fake righteousness.

  The one good thing that came out of it were a few really funny / strange experiences.

  Once, I started talking with an older woman at the door, and her husband was listening from beyond my view. She said something, and he yelled at her that she didn't know what she was talking about. She yelled back at him to shut up and leave her alone. Before I knew it they were having an all out fist fight in the doorway. So much for bringing a message of peace. I just quietly excused myself, but as I walked down the street I could hear them from 1/2 a block away.

  Then there were always the women who would come to the door on a Saturday morning, barely dressed, with see through lingerie, and then pretend to be all embarrassed, trying to cover their breasts. I would always think to myself, "why did you open the door?"

  BT,

  I thought about that while I was formulating my comment. The thing is that Russell's investments were made so long ago and the Borg could never have sustained itself for so long without additional input of funds and especially "slave" labor. Without the continuous support of the R&F from the 1920s down to the present they would have folded long ago (IMHO).

  That was great for a laugh...but then I started thinking.

  I had a friend when I was a Dub, who ended up committing suicide. I never did peg the reason, but I know that like everyone else in the Borg, he probably felt like he could never live up to the unreachable standard they set. Whatever you do, it's never enough.

  And, I wonder how many gay or lesbian Dubs, who knew they could never admit their sexual orientation, have ended up committing suicide?

  The GB has blood on their hands....it really is too bad it's not their own, but instead the blood of innocents!!!!

  I don't think there is any way around the fact that no matter where the money comes from (i.e., which specific asset of the Borg's) the bottom line is that everything the Borg has is sustained by the contributions of the R&F. Even if the argument is made that the source is their investments, the ultmate source of the money used to make the investments comes from the R&F.

  They are a morally corrupt, deceitful, dishonest, and just down right slimy.

  From the looks of things, they are probably using money from the sale of the Brooklyn properties, to stay liquid.

  The whole pedophile scandal reeks of coverup, damage control, and shielding the average Dub from as much information as possible. Unless someone on the inside leaks the information to those on the outside, we may never know.

  Sorry, I know this isn't much help, but it is my take on things.

  New " Witness Only " Watchtower - Even More Controlling - Check this Out

  it had been 5 years or more since i even read a watchtower article after exiting the witness cult in late 2003. but i was curious to see if the new " witness only " watchtowers were more controlling than i remember them being 5 years ago.

  and it certainly opened my eyes to the extreme control.

  when you have been away from it - you can really see the difference !

Do they promote the peace of the congregation ? " Anything we hear that tears down the brotherhood ( of pedophiles ) rather than builds it up is a worthless thing . "

  This is classic flawed logic. It reflects the same level of intelligence as the proverbial general who doesn't like the message (intelligence) so he kills the messenger, as if that will make everything okay.

  I can see where they are going with this, though. It would not surprise me to see them use some kind of twisted argument that, just as witnesses testifying in a court of law are qualified by testimony about their character and truthfulness, so too the motives and truthfulness of the "messengers" exposing the shortcomings of the Borg should be subject to the same kind of careful scrutiny.

  DAMN.... that sounds good....maybe I could get a gig writing that shit for them when they start outsourcing the writing.

  NOT!!!!

  Whew, they are really reaching the bottom of the argument barrel with that kind of shit.

  When a JW, what did you think about human fossils of 1.2 million years

  when i was in and documentaries came on the telly about human fossils being found dated 800 000 years old or 1.2 million years old i would always say - they surely must have the dating process wrong (hello - i'm not expert) or would try find a loop whole to make sure that the belief of mans' 6/7000 year existance.. i also used to reason that they were probably a species of apes or forgeries - anything to make myself believe we as jws' were right - i did this without even "thinking" really - like breathing.. i even studied science & biology at school and would also have to come up with ""excuses"" for this or that.

  ag what did we know we were only kids, but when you become an adult and have adult reasoning faculties one can't ignore the facts.. so what did you create as a safe bubble when things like this came up?.

  My experience was similar to the rest of you guys.

  Eventually though, the solid scientific foundation for evolution forced me to be intellectually honest. Once I started down that road there was no going back.

  No special human creation, hence no original sin, hence no need for a savior, hence no basis for the Bible's wild claims that there would be an Armageddon....

  It didn't take too long to realize that the whole Dub/Borg constuct of reality was a house of cards.

  What have you done to heal yourselves from the borg & lead a content life?

  or, at least made progress in healing yourselves.... right now i feel like i have made a lot of progress.. i did the following that helped tremendously:.

  faced my husband regarding how i felt and feel that we have met eachother 1/2 way on this - even researched and prepared how to talk to him in a better way (i have a blunt, tactless way of bringing things up - in case you guys didn't notice, lol.

  Meditation >>> I caught a ration of shit for doing this while I was in the Borg even though it helped relieve chronic pain from a car accident (Borg thinking: heavy duty pain killers okay; meditation demonic) >>> now I do it all the time

  School >>> the academic atmosphere and intelligent exchange is very healing

  Take time for myself >>> instead of constantly running on the Borg treadmill

  Exercise and working out >>> it's not beneficial for just a little, lots of it has made me feel terrific

  Volunteered for worthy causes >>> 'cause God ain't gonna fix things--it's up to us

  Practicing intellectual honesty >>> professing to believe Borg propaganda was very debilitating

  Evaluating people, ideas, and philosophies of life based on their real merit rather than some bogus man-made standard masquerading as God's standard

  There's lots more, but I think these are the biggies.

  Just curious--how many Dubs/ex-Dubs have come to JWD in the last year?

  i have the sense that we are seeing a lot more open dissent on jwd with dubs who are still in the borg or fading.. what do you guys think?.

  how many have recently left or are in the process of leaving as a result of jwd or other related sites that expose the borg?.

  what was the final straw that did it?.
