First, the title of this topic is hilarious. It's like the 21st century meets the 1900's.
I'm with Cheetos on this one. I say make a sociological game of it.
the greeter was a woman i once called friend and who (unfortunately now) was baptized after studying with me for a year.
when i walked in i was the only one coming through the door so it's not like she didn't see me, she turned away and ignored me...not wanting to lower myself to her level i simply got a shopping cart and went about my shopping, my first instinct was to report her to management for dereliction of duty but i thought better of that because my doing so would show her it upset me.
i really owe her a debt of gratitude because it was at her baptismal talk that my first strong doubt that it was the truth finally penetrated my foggy brain, as i sat and repeated the baptismal questions to myself at the assembly when she was being baptized i realized they were not the same ones i answered in 1974, that started me on my journey out of the org.

since being open to the truth abou da troof, whenever i read watchtower articles, their titles are always combinations of the same thing, just rehatched and modified to say teh same exact thing... does anybody get what i mean?.
serve jehovah and have ever-lasting peace!.
serve jehovah and keep and mild spirit, always remembering jesus christ is your lord!.
I dont have anything to contribute, other than this tread is freakin' hilarious!
i just learned that one of my grandsons (whom i've never met) will be baptized on saturday.
he will be twelve in november.
what's happening within the publishing company to inspire this sort of thing?
Just one more sign that it is a cult.
last night as i was doing my customary tossing and turning till 4 in the morning i got to thinking about the account of moses and the water from the rock.
now, we may or not believe in the literal take on that anymore - but the wt surely does.
if god got that angry about one incident of a human setting himself up as the one who accomplished something done with god's power, that he would deny moses, a longtime servant, entry into the promised land.... how must he feel about the org?
Look at it another way, this means regardless of how many years you serve Jehovah, if you slip up one day and piss him of real bad he just may strike your name from the book of life. That's one of reasons why I left. Might as well enjoy my life right now instead of living a life of servitude hoping I dont piss Jehovah off too much.
mr. flipper here again.
when in the org.
we were all told to fear jehovah .
The day I accepted the possibility that I just might die in the big A is the day I gained my freedom. Put another way, once I stopped being afraid of death I knew I could walk away from the Org. That's why they need to predict when the end will come. They need the big A to be a real in the minds of the enslaved ones. If the masses think the big A wont happen in their lifetime then the Org is in trouble.
this is only a few minutes long, but i thought people might be interested in viewing it.

I like it. Gives them a taste of their own medicine. They all look annoyed that he's there, but they all do the same to other people.
this year, i've decided to compile a photo album of some memorable moments that occurred at this year's convention.
jehovah's happy people sit, attentive with notepads in hand, eager to indulge in the spiritual food that the faithful and discreet slayv has prepared for this most important and memorable event!
here are some of the more memorable people who were in the audience:.
Hilarious!!! Funniest thread ever. I showed my wife who is still on the inside. She did not think it was funny, but she's in denial.
i'm curious to know reasons for wanting to be an elder?.
some have expressed to me they wanted to use their abilities to help others.. another said he wanted to be in the inner circle to make sure he was able to look after his families' interests in the event of any future mishaps by his children.. i think many just get caught in the web of handling microphones, then ministerial servant then elder.. i know it's easy for me to say as i wasn't any of these (apart from microphones) but .
i can't help thinking for most men it is simply helping to fulfill a desire for more power.. many don't seem content to be viewed as a mere publisher but want to get in on the action, knowing all the gossip and being involved on decisions.. is it true that deep down, even though most may have good motives, it is still out of a feeling of self importance.. thanks .
I wanted to be an elder cause it's a symbol of success. Think about it, you're constantly told not to look for bigger things in the world, not to seek monetary success, or fame. How are you supposed to feel like you are getting somewhere in life, like you are climbing the ladder? So instead of setting goals like getting a raise or a promotion at work, you set a goal like make MS or make elder or PO. I sure as hell don't know how the sisters do it....
i always tried to my best as a jw, to observe what the watchtower and bible told us "not to do".
then i became inactive and lowered my guard, and didn't care as much.
i think that my first jw sin, was playing lotto, then talking to disfellowshipped ones in my congregation, then posting on apostate forums, and then giving blood.

there are 729 references to the "spiritual paradise" on the 2006 watchtower library on cd.. .
when you were one of jehovah's witness what was it like to live in this "spiritual paradise"?.
we would enjoy hearing about your daily walk with god the faithful slave (genesis 5:22,24; genesis 6:9) and how refreshed you felt at the end of each glorious day in paradise..
I think the whole spiritual paradise thing is a great example of the placebo effect. As long as you believe it is great. Once you get objective and open your eyes you realize it is a scam. They dont really love YOU. They dont really care about YOU. They only care about you as part of the illusion. You are a prop to get other to fall for the scam. If you are a good prop and seem happy and productive and spiritual they like you and "care" about you. Once that is not the case you are worth crap to them.
Spiritual paradise is great while you are high. Once you sober up, it sucks.
