Good paying job's will decrease because of economics and not return because of automation. What few good job's that may be available will be given to the young and college educated.

For the rest of us, there is pizza delivery and grocery bagging. I refuse to do window washing.

401K, do you still have one?

Several years ago I considered starting one. Didn't understand it at all. The HR dept where I work had closed and to start a 401K I had to do it online. It was so hard I gave up and never did it.

Yesterday I learned from someone at work that the 401K plan tanked and everyone lost their money. $30K to $40K in just two weeks for most was gone.

Is that really possible? If it is, my ignorance has been my savior.

was your kingdom hall ever broken into or vandalized?.

many years ago, around 1991 or 92, our kingdom hall was broken into.

we had just purchased this heavy duty file cabinet, it was fire proof, smash proof, you name it, at least that's what we were told, this baby cost us over $900.00.

My KH was broken into at least three times in the 60s and 70s. They always went for the sound equipment, the only thing of value in the biulding. A cinder block had been thrown thru a window when no one was around and windshields had been smashed during meetings on a few occasions, twice on memorial night.

lew rockwell posted an excellent article (the force is with us) on the downward trend in prices we are seeing in some sectors of the economy, and why this is a good and absolutely necessary thing to be happening.

as we all know, the powers-that-be at the federal reserve, in the federal government, and on wall street are trying their best to make sure that prices do not come down.

in seeing falling prices as one of the big problems of the economy, they fail to understand that housing prices (for example) must be allowed to fall to market levels so that more people can afford to buy houses at mortgages they can afford, and so that the huge surplus of housing that wont sell at previous prices will be able to sell.

Much of what is in stores right now was produced and transported when energy costs were high. Might see falling prices by spring if energy costs stay low. Although, this is an area where producers don't like to lower prices and greed seems to be in control.

i am so close to them...but they were so desperate they made a very bad decision....and they had never done anything wrong in their life...it is tearing my heart out.....because there is nothng i can do to help them..and i can not even talk with them.... they are friends to many of us btw....... and ya...the reason they are in trouble is because their jw-ex sicked the police on them.....pathetic....and even though they moved far away...the local elders help the police....oompa.

anew movie coming out on dec. 12. this movie subject deals with child molestation in the catholic church and how they tried to cover it up.

let's hope the witnesses will go to see it and get them thinking.
