Witness suicide in Anderson, Indiana???

check out this sad, sad obituary and picture in my local newspaper.

the body was found after 5 days in the river by a fisherman.

police are 'investigating' but no headlines about homicide.

I'm curious. This happened nearly a year ago. How and what brought you to this site? Your first post, specifically regarding this tragedy. I find it amazing.

MEMORIAL SHOCK!!!!

last year in my cong (well it's not really "my cong" as i'm just "in" for the sake of family) we had a new "partaker of the emblems".

it came as a shock because this man was only baptized in 2005.. his wife has been a dub from birth.. he was 63 when he got baptized, took "auxilliary" pioneer after 1 month...became a full-time pioneer after a year....became ms after 2years...made an elder 6 months later.....2008 he got "anointed"....we were all surprised at the amount of time he took to climb the jw corporate ladder....rumours are that he donated a car to our po when he (po) lost his job, and some other favours( this man is wealthy).... .

i'm looking forward to be "just an observer" at this year's memorial in my cong (i am thinking of partaking myself, but i sure would rather not,the "bread" is tasteless and the wine is of poor quality,...i don't wanna throw out at the ms serving the emblems)..... back to that man,...how long would it take him to become a gb member?.

Ben Goeser EX-Jw shot at work.

ben was shot to death thursday night at work by an apparent stalker of his wife.

ben and nikki came to our nashville meet-up several times but would have to leave to go to work.. the entire story is at http://www.newschannel5.com/global/story.asp?s=10123881 .. we all feel for nikki at this terrible time and our prayers and thoughts are with her..

As for the Witnesses; only the truely braindead could attribute something like this in any way to "faith" or lack of.

a little background about myself will clarify things i think.. my wife and i raised 3 daughters in the org., 2 are still belivers.

the last meeting we attendes as members of a cong.

was dec 3 2001. the process of seeing things for what they really were took a few years motivated by some pretty hard times at the hands of the " most loving people on the earth".

Let me get this straight.

Father allegedly touches daughter.

Mother wants divorce. (good move IMO)

Mother is worried about a "scriptural divorce"?

Scriptures are just alphabet's formed into word's, composing sentences and placed in a book no one is sure we were ever intended to read. Then translated by any organization any way it desires. In the present world a divorce is granted by the guy in a black robe behind a courtroom bench. Until God comes down and holds that seat, I wouldn't be worried about a scriptural divorce.
