Revolutionaries only outnumbered Loyalists by a small percentage during our own revolutionary war. Just enough. Most people were neutral. But the Brits didn't have the grip on the Colonies the Federal Government does now. In the end, you have to hope the good guys outnumber the bad guys.
BTS
I read 18%, or a little more than 1 in 6 supported the revolution actively. Interesting tidbit of info.

Guns are the only thing allowing the American people to keep some control over their government. If the UK government decides to go fascist, there isnt one thing their citizenry could do about it, as the law enforcement have all the guns, and could break off from the government and do as they wish.

by purplesofa ininteresting explanation of the tax system from a economics professor.. .
suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten.

Did anyone mention taxes go to the people who created the money out of thin air and charged you interest to get into the game at all?

Canadian poll shows Canadians giving creationism the boot.
by kwintestal ini read this article while sipping some coffee this morning and thought it was interesting.
one of the things that got me the most is that 69% of men believe in evolution ... which would mean that there would be a highly disproportionate number of women who believe in creationism.

Mincan,
Consumption and Population are both connected to resources.
Yes, but not in the equal parity you suggest. Do a little research as to consumption in ratio to population for the worlds nations and it will show just how heavily flawed your logic is. You connected 'population' with 'greed'. As I said, flawed logic. HSHe said something along the lines of "There is no lack of resources, only too much greed" I turned it into "There is no lack of resources, only too many people"
I did no such thing as connecting population with greed. I was substituting greed with human population.
The enzyme amylase is found both in human saliva which begins to break down starch in the mouth and also in the pancreas. Don't know where you got this info from, Mincan, but amylase was the first human digestive enzyme to be isolated.
Got my info from a faulty memory chip in my hippocampus or amygdala... studied enzymes back in 06, sorry about that... upon looking up which enzyme I meant (the one responsible for digesting plant fibres if a species posesses an endogenous supply) I meant phytase, humans lack phytase. Thanks for getting me straight on that. Hate to spread false information.

Having worked in factory farms and lived in several farming communities, I can't wait until the age of the factory farm is over.
