How do you guys know that playing the game to stay in is the right approach? Tell them they're fools for believing men are "gods mouthpiece"... use their own bible aginst them.. you must obey God as ruler rather then men. Why aren't there more people willing to stand up to these wackos? So, to keep your family talking to you, you are willing to live a lie? To make your life one great big lie? To not tell them exactly what you feel so they'll talk to you? To submit to this kind of blackmail? Not me bro, I'm going at these fools full force, they're the ones that are worng... they built a mansion for the returning prophets to live in and you need to be ashamed that you're calling them out? THEY'RE MEN, THEY'RE MEN, THERY'RE MEN!

Answering an evolutionist argument.
by hooberus inthe world is full of complex biological systems (for one example see below):.
here is a brief overview of the biochemistry of vision.
when light first strikes the retina, a photon interacts with a molecule called 11-cis-retinal, which rearranges within picoseconds to trans-retinal.

Your argument is a straw man... when you state that "some evolutionists" give the ad finium argument.. sorry about the spelling I'm slightly dislexic. Anyway, your argument is with those that make this claim not all evolutionist. There are those that have teken on the complexities of the eye and do not argue about who "created God". They just argue about the evolution of the eye; so your argument isn't with evolution it's with those who say someone had to create God.

Had The Chat With My Mother
by sweet pea inspilled the beans yesterday.
told her i was never going to another meeting again.
knew it wouldn't be too hard going as she's always had a few doubts herself, what i didn't appreciate was just how many she had and how hard she was finding it as she is developing a great social life with 'wordly' friends!!

I agree with what you said Journey, but the fact that the WT is just men is really, really plain... there's physical evidence that these guys are frauds.. there's none that shows them having Gods spirit. I can't for the life of me understand why thery're so fooled; I guess you're right.. fear! Sure is frustrating although.

Questioning Armageddon. How can wife hang onto the Bible? (If she wants to)
by Open mind injehovah wiping out 99.99% of humanity, babies included, is a "problem" or "question" that i think can be very powerful to use with jw family.
especially when presented from a "i just really have a problem with this idea at a gut level" standpoint.. but i haven't used it with my wife (yet) because i see it as a slippery slope that leads to "jesus believed the whole flood story" so i guess we need to throw out the whole bible.
(which, btw, is the very slope i have gone down.

So tophat didn't chose to answer my question.... one can only specualte... here's the scoop folks, fruiteaters didn't cause death...death is a natural occurance. Therefore the "ransom" death Jesus died was all for naught... he had nothing to redeem and nothing happend after he died...men continue to die as animals do just like they always have. Nothing you believers say can be seen in the natural world that would help you state your case; it's all faith just like the faith the JWs have. All you guys have done is jump from the fire into the frying pan, enslaved anew by your judgemental God; a God who's jealous if you don't believe in the cockamamie story that's written in the Bible-a God that will punish you for that. Just like the families in the WT do, if you don't think like me then I won't talk to you. Brother Apostate, have you ever read up on how the bible was written, the history? "reading it with an open mind" is what made me realize how ludicrus it is...

Tophat,
Don't get angry over this quesiton but why don't you think men were meant to die? DO you actually think that Eve eating a fruit made death come to this planet? ANimals like us have been dieing for thousands of years before Eve allegedly chatted with a serpent. Why do you think this myth is true Tophat? What do you see in the natural world that would make you think that death isn't natural?

Onthewayout,
I only say that because I feel that "evil triumps when good men do nothing"... I know all my thoughts aren't right and it may be better that many don't listen to me... my cousin don't believe; goes to the memorial just to keep his wife happy... he tells me last night that i screw things up taking it all on... hell, he may be right no one knows exactly what to do including myself... I just think it strange that they can talk about something that's had such a negtative impact on this family in such a high reguard and you can't offer even one word of dissent... that makes me feel like a coward and I just can't do it-I have to speak. They treat me different becasue I can't believe something there's no evidecen to believe, then tell me they won't assoicate with me if I don't believe it. And I can't! So I lash out and tell them what I really think about their stupid religion... and it's stupid too, the fact they built a mansion for the returing prophets would be enough evidence for most people.... but there's much much more than that. and what proof do they have that these MEN are inspired by God's spirit? None, and they destroy the family over that sh$%? Theyt defend these mansion building men while ignoring they have a son and I'm supposed to remain silent at their foolishness? Hell, I don't know.

Take your "Crisis of Conscience" book, make copies of the JW pages where they made gaffs, show those to the elders when they visit, and tell them that you must obey God as ruler rather then man, tell them that you can't put your trust in nobles or the son of earthly men... then ask them to show you from the bible where it says that you are an apostate by challening what men tell you... There's no justification for this policy as any man has the right to question any other man and there's not one damn scripture that says otherwise. They have no right to say that your family can't associate with you becasue you have questions over the teachings of men; it's not backed up in scripture that's all I'm saying.

Evolution and "Missing Link" theory
by Mile 0 innot long ago, i caught the tale end of a show where this biologist believes that both apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.
therefor there is no so-called "missing link".
has anyone heard about this theory?.

Read the many posts from folks trying to get out; that are too scared and then please explain how fading is the right thing to do... I say tell people like it is, the more we can save from this cult the better and they're many just hanging on becasue of fear, a fear that may be calmed if more take a stand.
