Again and again lunatic Scholar keeps on saying...
"Celebrated WT scholars have used all of the evidence oth biblical and secular to prove that 607 BCE is the only possible datre for the Fall of Jerusalem. Their methodology is carefully explained as with all of the evidence and it is simple and precise which cannnot be said for the proponents of 586 or 587 BCE".
Yet will not name one... they don't exist. I was watching History Chanel last night, it was about the Ark of the covenant. Man kept on saying over and over that scholars came to the conclusion that 586BC was when Jerusalem fell... he never mentioned one of the WT "celebrated scholars"... not once.

Jeremiah and the 70 years. Jewish exile or Babylonian rule?
by digderidoo ini have never until a few days ago been able to reconcile the 70 year prophecy with the 587/6 bce date for jerusalems destruction.
although a post was about this in a previous thread by a@g , i would like to explore this more.. when the 70 years are applied to babylonian rule, rather than the jewish exile everything seems to make sense.. to ellaborate for those who haven't come across it, this is how 587/6 does match the 70 year prophecy.. i hope a@g doesn't mind but i have cut and paste his post:-.
the 587 date does match the bible.... (jeremiah 25:11) 11 and all this land must become a devastated place, an object of astonishment, and these nations will have to serve the king of babylon seventy years.".

I know this is off the point, but here it goes anyway.
I think Burns says things he don't really mean sometimes... maybe if we were in the same room we'd probably get the joke... but Burns, I hope you understand that we aren't in the same room, when we read your posts... we can't tell that you may be joking.
I don't thinks Burns thinks the way the post comes off. He's a pretty good man, I give him the most hell, but I think he's cool overall. I think Burns is well read and mostly thoughtful, but he does come with some off the wall comments sometimes, I don't think he really means it mostly. I hope, and feel that he didn't mean exactly what he wrote, he was just fuming.
This occasion seems to be one of those instances... Take care both of you... -

I'm so damned sorry you're down... but I recall Clint Eastwood, you know that world famous philosopher Clint Eastwood don't you...LOL? In one of those movies of his said 'don't give the bastards the satisfaction"...
Go to a therapist, get help... but find something you love to do... I go fishing. Yea, that boring fishing helps me... is there anything you love doing? Find time and do it.
But don't let this world get you down... don't give the bastards the satisfaction of knowing they've made any impact whatsoever... I hope you feel better soon... keep cool my sister. -

Hi! I'm new here!
by gloobster ini just signed up here, so i guess i should let everyone know a few things about myself.. my maternal grandfather was an elder in a congregation here, and he and my grandmother raised my mother quite strictly as a jehovah's witness.
my father's father was also a jehovah's witness, though much less devout.
when my parents were in their mid-20's they more or less disassociated themselves from the flock.

Is this fair?
by nbernat inthis is my take on the whole inherited sin thing:.
let's say your parents committed a crime and were sentenced to life in prison, let's say 140 years.
now, they died 90 years short of their sentence.

Yea, I've always thought that the biblical God reminded me of a drunken redneck who comes home and finds his wife cheating. He then goes on to kill not only his wife and her lover, but all the kids in the trailer also. What did the kids do wrong?
So, if Adam and Eve ate the fruit, then they die... he makes another man named Earl, and his wife Sue, they don't eat the fruit but instead live out their lives for eternity not eating said fruit. Doesn't this prove to the angels that man can serve God just as good as anything?
The whole story screams "Myth" and is nothing more than a crock of crap, no matter who puts a spin on it. -

He's as crazy as a loon! Come on Scholar, can't you name one of these "celebrated scholars"? -

I disagree solace, you state... "you are the only one that is hateful - and generalizing. I am not a witness anymore, but i had nothing against examining ANYTHING, and many i know did the same".
Are you telling me all JWs do not shun so called "apostates", those who question the teachings of the FADS? Please, we all know better than that! They shun us one and all, and they shun us for asking questions... are you kidding me here? -

str8 says...
"Yay to disassociating!
If anything, it was the step I am proudest of in my exit from the JWs. They may try still to discuss it with you further, but stand firm".....
And I concur, the letter is great... I hope all goes well.
