"How nice disrespectful of MIL to budge in and cast you, her daughter's husband, as the lawless enemy".
That's exactly what she's doing Gopher... and as much as I may disagree with Saltcon, I know he seems like a good man, not one a mother in law shouldn't be proud of....
You hang in there salty my brother... we got your backside...

JW Mother-In-Law encourages my wife to "stay strong"
by sacolton injust found a letter from my mother-in-law to my wife about my disassociating from "the truth" and how she is so proud of her to stick with jehovah's organization and quoted this scripture:.
matthew 7:21. not everyone who says to me, "lord, lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father in heaven.. funny thing is she didn't bother sharing the rest of the scripture ... .
matthew 7:22-23.

2112, listen to crazy old man Huff here.... live, live, live, if for no other reason, you can give a "witness" to your loved ones when you're old and gray, that Armageddon really wasn't "right around the corner"...
And there's much more... you need to freaking leave Florida this fall... go look at some mountain streams, see the leaves change, smell some cider, and drink some shine...
Live and breath my friend, I get pissed, want to fight, I wonder each day what the holy hell is wrong with people, but I see a beautiful stream, and hang with my friends, and it gets me out of the rut.
And it might be advisable to go to a doctor and see if you suffer from depression, as much as folks give me hell about my weed on this site, I'm still not depressed... LOL
Hang in there my friend. -

Since you on the right won't answer this question. Abortion
by dawg ini posed this question on another thread... namely burns and hooberus...wouldn't answer, so i thought i'd ask it again in an open thread..., .
you on the right disagree with roe v wade... so that means that you want to redefine when a zygote, embryo, or a fetus has what anyone would rule for lack of better words "the right to life"... .
exactly when is life, human as per your definition?

Respectfully, a "person is a person" when they no longer resemble a clump of cells that only have the resemblance of a clump of cells... that's my opinion.
But this is what we're talking about right, opinions? I find it hard to imagine, and maybe that's why so many have not answered this question... so I'll pose it again in hopes we all can have clarity...
What should be the penalty for those who abort early in the pregnancy (say before 5 weeks) If you consider abortion murder and that life begins at conception?
And I'll ask again, what about rape and incest? Should there be laws that make someone have the baby after rape.,.,. I'm talking law here not personal opinions.
Only St. Anne came clean about this, and I didn't jump her... I really just want to know. -

Thanks 2112...
IO believe St. Anne was the most honest of all our posters on the right... she says this among other things..
"I believe that God creates and instills a soul into the baby the moment it's conceived"
As I said, I will not jump, I do not agree that someone's religion should be brought into a political discussion as those on the right do with the abortion discussion... but I admire stanne for being honest and will not jump for that reason... she at lest has the guts to be honest and I like that in a person...
But, I do not want someones religious belief to become law... I would prefer religion to be kept out of all law discussions. Good Job though anne, you were honest and I thank you. -

Well, I don't mind Happy Dad's assertion, he's passionate about this subject, as many people are... It didn't bother me because I can understand the passion. Funny that he thinks I don't have a life and need to grow up, and he put forth an argument that sounds like a second grader, but what the hay?
This is actually one of the few conservative arguments that I admire, I've thought about this a lot, but in the end it seems that the conservatives want to bring their religion into the subject.
I believe that's why they won't answer the questions about what kind of crime a early abortion would be.... nor has anyone of them said whether they believe in making laws against abortion in the case of rape or incest. They've answered what they think, but not whether they support laws that would enforce their opinions on others.
I do not mean this as a dig, I guess it is a dig, but what can you expect from a group that allows the bible be a guide for their lives? Its really hard to have a conversation based on logic when one side still believes something like that. -

UFO's, can so many sightings be all wrong, or lies?
by free2beme ini was out hiking in the woods of northern california in the late 80's with a good friend.
at that time, i thought it was cool to just sleep under the stars and enjoy the outdoor experience to the full.
one night, while camping at a lake that was far up in the mountains and had no one else there, but the two of us (was not a broke back mountain moment, sorry to those who might have wondered .

Which one of these artifacts, if found, would make you believe?
by free2beme inmany know, i am not a christian and see all religion as myths born from other myths and piled on with folklore.
at the same time, i love archeology and like many others, enjoyed the indiana jones movies and so on.
so i wonder, if you were like me or someone with the same similar disbelieve in christianity.

Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon
by Leolaia injehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.
yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.
personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

Good question Zico....
Never ending Journey said this...
"From my experience, most adamant pro-lifers feel that way because of their religious beliefs. But why would their loving God allow more than half of all human beings to die before they're even born? It doesn't make sense to me".
And I think some of the views reflected here are based on this.. But they've quit commenting since I wanted to nail them down on this...
I'd also like to hear Zico's question answered.
