I would like some advice. Some of you know that me and Mrs Anti just had our first child (girl). Okay here is the problem. I did not think I would have to deal with the in-laws right away about the education of our little girl. I believe that we would have to deal with this later when she will be old enough to understand certain things, I guess I was wrong. This past weekend we had a family BBQ and everything was going okay until it was time for the prayer. It was time to feed the baby but she was distracted by all the commotion outside so we went indoors to feed her. Mother in-law was asking how long before we were ready for the prayer, I said I did not know and they should start with out us. She said well it's important to us that you be there, I said what ever you want if you want to wait go a head cause I don't know how long it will take. They decided to start with out us. When we were ready to go outside and eat well I see my mother in-law crying and talking to my brother in-law. She is already an emotional wreck, she is married to a verbally abusive alcoholic sexist racist pig of a husband who is also a JW ( not my wife's father, he died when she was 9). Later on in the evening she make a comment about how we are not doing enough for the baby, there are more important things then a good education and being loving parents (we all know what that means).
Well here is my question, I did not want to have the "talk" with them about how we are going to raise our little girl right now, I wanted to wait for the best time but now it seems that no mater what we are going to do we are going to break my mother in-law's hart. So should I just forget about it and ignore them when they imply that we should raised our child in the Watchtower corp. or should I tell them strait up that there is no chance in hell for that to ever happen so don't keep your hopes up. I would like your input.

One more try...
by shopaholic ina couple of jw friends attempted to encourage me and invited me to travel with them to the dc.
overall i had a good time and enjoyed their company.
however, i went to all 3 days of the dc and nothing happened.

Also, there was no mention of education at all at this DC. It was actually fairly light when it came to the information. Nothing mentioned on apostates either. Nothing major on the use of the internet other than warnings about porn. I'm not sure if folks on this board 'spice up' what they hear at the DC or if maybe the speakers will throw in their own two cents from time to time at various DCs. I actually found it somewhat boring.
Probably depends on the area's "special needs". I went to a meeting at a friends congregation once in Montreal, the talk on the local needs was about homosexuality, I never ever heard a talk like that anywhere else before. I did not even know they gave talks like that. You know from place to place they will insist on different things.

Are women accountable to Christ?
by yknot in(1corinthians11:3)3 but i want you to know that the head of every man is the christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the christ is god.
so woman answers to man, man to christ, christ to god...... .
are woman held accountable to christ at his return or at the end of the millenial reign?.

Humm, interesting point. I think the answer would be that they are judge on how the obey their husband in accordance to god's law. But then again the bible also says it's okay to sell your daughter as a slave, so I don't think the bible is a very good moral guide, I think you probably figure that one out already.

I feel exonerated
by John Doe infor a while i feel i was implicated by a scatological quagmire of ruffians who wanted nothing more than to cast doubt on the magnanimous glory that is me.
now i feel justified in gaining ascendancy over their impotent crescendo of inane and asinine banter, and thank god that my glory survives unscathed.
as such, i will continue to bless this board with my insights at no charge, other than to exact your praise and worship.

HERE'S A BOMBSHELL ABOUT THE 144,000 DOCTRINE......
by Mary injust when you think you've heard it all............in my research for my project, i was doing some digging around on the subject of the 144,000 and came across something in the wts's literature that absolutely stunned me and, being the generous soul that i am , wanted to pass it on to you to get your thoughts on this.. .
we all know that the society teaches that the 144,000 mentioned in revelation is speaking of "spiritual israel" and not 'fleshly israel' or even other christians in general right?
there are countless quotes throughout the literature that we are all familiar with that specifically state this, but to drive home a point, here are a few:.

The twelve apostles (the little flock) are not the twelve spiritual tribes of Israel (other sheep)
That's one major flaw with every Christian religion that tries to "explain" the bible, it so vague that you could speculate and make up almost anything. I'm not saying that what you said does not make sense I'm just saying that when something is not clear it's your imagination that makes it clear, like looking through a dirty window. Like I said you don't see these things when you under the mind control.

Sorry, I can't blame the WTS for the elder's suicide. He could have chosen a different ending to his life and didn't. The borg may be cupable but HE made his choice. I do not feel sorry for him but I do feel badly for his family.
Feel free to flame away.
Yes but then again it's hard to know what was wrong with him. I see the borg. like a drug dealer. The drug dealer is only interested in the money, he does not care what it does to the people. If some one is in pain and does not see any way out that person might blame the drug dealer for his problem, the drug dealer is not really at "fault" but he does not help.

Are we beating a dead horse?
by Gregor inthe wtb&ts has already shown clear signs of defeat which have been pointed out here very thoroughly.
those who cling to it have their own motivations, most of which are based in either self delusion, ignorance or plain old fear of shunning.
the majority of people in mainstream culture who even recognize the name, jehovah's witnesses, associate them with an annoying fundamentalist group who knock on your door to push their pamphlets.

Just had jw elder at door and he wouldn't leave when i asked him to! lol
by dobbie ini am so laughing my head off and want to thank jwd for giving me the strength to leave the jws and for standing up to them (i am a quiet mouse usually!).
the jws next door had the field service meeting and i told hubby(inactive ) that they'd gone so he could cut the grass, but i was wrong and as soon as he went out they all piled out of the house lol!they tried to say hello but he shunned them as he hates the way they ignore me (d'ad) esp his family.
then while he was talking to our other neighbour i saw his step father (who is a big bully and called me a murderer when i said i wasnt sure if i wanted to be a jw anymoreand my kids would be killed because of me which really hurt me) so he arranged to work our road i know just so he can get hold of hubby.. anyway hubby was hiding in the house and tried to make me see them (again) but i made him do it, hoping he'd just tell them hes not interested.

It sure feels good to stand up to them! Good for you. I like the hose idea lol! It's better then mace. I suggest that if your hubby decides to stand up to him and he still acts like this and does not want to leave, call the cops that would be a nice picture for all the neighbors to see especially that the service meeting is nearby.

Why would you want to serve Jehovah?
by Anti-Christ infor all of you you believe in the watchtower doctrine i have a few honest and important (in my opinion) question you should ask yourselves.. why serve a god like jehovah?
you may find that question to be out of your comfort zone but i think it's important to examine the wt vision of the god you accept as real.
what does jehovah expects from you?
-
Anti-Christ
I would not want to serve that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag. He puts Himself above His own principles, and is absolutely corrupt. He does absolutely nothing but make trouble, and then He expects people to give Him credit for the crumbs He allows when their efforts produce results (and He is imperfectly successful in busting it up).
I no longer want to serve that Tyrant.
When you really study the bible objectively, especially what we call the old testament, we start to realise that this god is not that great. Even with the "explanation" of the WT you still have a hard time loving this entity, when I was a believer I loved Jesus but I feared Jehovah. It was always difficult for me to explain why an all powerful, wise and loving god found it necessary to kill off babies. The slogan of every Judea christian religion should be love god or he will f*&ing kill you.(or torture you for eternity)
