I think this belief is very flawed. Apparently Satan said that humans only serve god because he gives humans nice things, well Satan is right. Do you know any JW that would do all what they do if they would not have their hope? When you think about it JW are very selfish (just like their god) they are willing to shun their love ones just to get their reward even they force their belief on others and risk their children's lives just for a reward. Most JW do what they are told because they fear punishment. Jesus also did what he did knowing he would be resurrected. The real hero here is Satan, he gave his live to free humans from enslavement to god. It's not Satan who lied to Eve it's Jehovah. It's not Satan that condemned humanity it's Jehovah.

If I was to be a hostage of course I would want the authorities to do all they can to save me (or a member of my family) but I think the main objective would be to take the bad guys out. If you negotiate with pirates they will keep on using the method that works ( like a kid throwing a fit, if you give in they will keep using that method) but if you kill them (the pirates) you send a message to the rest. If I would die in the process well I would rather it be because the pirate got eliminated instead of them getting what they want and then killing me any ways or taking more hostages.

It's just an other silly law that is all about control and conformity but I guess you already know this. An interesting thing about beards, it's only after the first world war that it became in style to shave (that's why Russel had one before) because the soldiers had to wear a gas mask they could not have beards, it caught on. Later in the 60-70 beards became in style again to slowly go out of style again in the 90. I grow a beard every winter, I live in Quebec it helps to keep my face warm.

Naughty Things Our Kids Have Done
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inanything your kids have done that were way naughty or could have gotten you in trouble with the ehhhl-duhrz..... once my littlest one when he was about 4 or 5 years old asked his mom for a bowl of cereal.
so, she sends his older brother to go downstairs and make them both some cereal.
so the bigger one is an real ass and decides it's time to lord it over his baby brother.

My dad gave my sister a good spanking at the hall once, he got in trouble with the elders, never did before but this time it was the CO visit and the elders wanted to look good.
An other time I burped real loud at a the dinner table( I was about 10 ) my dad had invited a bunch of pioneers for supper. They all look shocked, so my dad slapped me across the face.
When I was a teen a lot of JW girls would come to see me ( I was very popular with the girls for some reason) they would spend a lot of time with me and some times I was alone I my room with them (nothing append we just talked). A brother was visiting and he saw me come out of my room with this JW girl. My dad (and of course me) got in trouble for it.

This is what my wife said to her mother two years ago when we stop going. " At the last memorial they said it was not enough to just go to the memorial once a year, we must go to all the meetings ( we were already inactive but still went to the memorial every year) so what's the point on going to the memorial?" Her mom did not like that excuse at all , I thought it was a good one.
