I watched on THursday night and the thing that stood out in my mind regarding the similiarities of the Borg and the Amish are when a woman mentioned that you're never to miss attending church and if you do "they will talk about why you weren't there" similar to the "we missed you at the meeting" phone call or question you get when you run into the Dubs after you miss a meeting

Four Questions Logical JW's Can't Answer
by Suspicious inhere are 4 simple questions most jw's (even elders) cannot logically answer.. .
1)if jw's are to completely stay away from all forms of demonism, why do many jw's watch magical disney movies?.
* watching magic/demonism is not a matter of conscience.. * there is no gray area when it comes to magic.

Questions 3 and 4 can really make them look stupid dipshits that they are if you ask the proper follow up questions as well.
Regarding blood, just ask them where does blood fraction come from, is it similar to bone fraction coming from bone, like orange juice coming from an orange?
I think there is a scripture that they twist and turn about why they record their time, but ask them where did the Apostles turn in their time and see what answer (if you could call it that) you get

Pete that story could apply to any "Jesus freak" so to speak no matter what their religion
Take for example Room 203 and 205 in a hospital, both patients more or less on the brink of death and friends and relatives praying, if the guy in Room 203 pulls thru everyone would say thank you Lord Jesus, but the guy in Room 205 who had folks praying for him as well dies, why didn't the Lord bless their relative by pulling him thru the illness. Guess that's why I can honestly say I haven't said a prayer in not years but decades.

Planting seeds of thought with my JW doctor
by Faithful Witness ini have hesitated to post anything about my recent encounters with our jw doctor, because i don't really want anyone to insult her or me, for continuing to rely on her for medical care.
our family doctor is a jehovah's witness.
we were referred to her by our former bs conductor.

Not really Bible Student, what Dr. actually checks thru all the magazines in there waiting room? Although it was mentioned that her husband acts as the receptionist, I guess he would tell her, but a Dr.s got lot's of things on their minds, why would she make it a point to tell her JDub patients what's been written on the magazines in the waiting area.
The more I think about this women being a Dr. and a Dub, I wonder how she skirted over the blood issue while she was in medical school, that is if she really is a Dub. All that's needed to find out her Dub standing is to ask her how she feels about prescribing blood for her patients and watch her facial reactions and listen to see if she doesn't give a definitive answer. If she can't answer directly and firmly it's time to find a new family physician and perhaps report her to the board if she doesn't believe in administering blood.

I wonder what she does when one of her patients, or better yet an anemic patient would greatly benefit from a few pints of blood. Does she pass the patient on to another Dr. or does Sister Doctor actually prescribe blood when needed. That's something that her patients need to take into consideration if they know her JW standing.

OK, so if my mom dated someone but never lived together and her boyfriend acted in the wrong manner towards me, obviously something is wrong. I didn't know that Allen and Mia (supposedly) never spent a night in Mia's apt.
Also I know that Andre, Woody and Mia never lived in the same household, that would've been hinted at or major headlines if they did.

Tech49 has the CO over for lunch
by Tech49 inso awhile back, during our last circuit overseer visit, vic and i decided to bite the bullet.... there seemed to be very little support for the mid-week lunch plans for the co and his wife, so we signed up to host.
we definitely didnt want it to be awkward, so we invited a few others along, as a nice little group affair.
they were excited, and offered to do the cooking, so i said i would play along.. just some background.... this particular co is kind of a tool (big surprise right?

Congrats for having the self control not to kick that pompous tool out on his ass. He came into your home and sat at your table and acted like an asswipe. If he hasn't already, he will run into somebody who will set him straight when he pulls that pompous routine at someone elses home.

Although she was officially adopted by Previn and Mia, if she lived in the household when Woody and Mia were together and your mother's husband comes on to you, adopted or biological, something is DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THAT.

So if this JW Dr. is old enough to have grandchildren, then it is permissable for JWs to persue a college education?
I believe you mentioned that she knows your JW status, just saying, if she were my Dr. I would ask her the above question just to see how she squirms and gets around it.

JW uncle in hospital
by finally awake ini just found out that my uncle, who is a staunch jw elder, has an aortic aneurism and is in critical condition.
he's in his late 70s and he probably won't survive.
he lives several hundred miles away, so i don't see myself making the trip for his funeral..

Finally - Sorry to hear about your uncle, but I see that your JW elder uncle is refusing blood, just wondering if he mentioned he could received "blood fractions" and wondering if the Dr.s told him that fractions at this point is just a "spit in the bucket" (of course I'm sure he received a more medicinal explanation) and that really can't help him at this point.
