OneEyedJoe - Is this guy still a faithful servant of Jah?
Sounds like a guy from a friends cong decades ago that used to be a hippie, his first talk, first line out of his mouth was "Dig this cat Jehovah"
our go-to wack-a-doodle elder moved to a new congregation a few years back.
the position has been vacant since then.. we had an elder move in a few months back.
he appears to be angling for the position of resident wack-a-doodle.. at last night's service meeting, he said (paraphrased): "as a congregation, we've been busier than ever before with our special campaign.

caption:" a few sisters were out in the tract campaign in clearwater, florida this morning and placed a tract with wrestling personality hulk hogan.
The two sisters look like they're looking forward to a return visit to see how he enjoyed reading it . . . as if he's actually going to read and as if he gave them his address so they could drop by.
But hey, ya' never know, maybe he and Prince can go out in service one day, Prince wearing one of his outlandish outfits as usual and Hulk going bare chested and wearing that WWE belt. As long as they keep those checks rollin' in nothing would be said to them.
i always thought this was a double standard amongst witnesses.
what exactly is acceptable to jw's when it comes to music?
an example is prince.
I posted a couple of months ago that the Dubs must be all over that "happiness is the truth" line during the meetings, trying to be clever trying to work it into their comments.
I remember when Flip Wilson in his Geraldine character used to say "what you see is what you get", I remember a sister worked that one in her comment one Sunday probably feeling all proud of herself, thought she was being all informative yet comical at the same time.
so here we are on a niceness thread talking about nice things.. yesterday a very pretty girl left her mobile behind at the computer in the libary, i returned it to her and she gave me a hug.

i'm a single hispanic guy in my mid 30s living by myself in suburban america.
i own a home in the kind of neighborhood where you have to get hoa permission to do just about anything, including chopping down a tree.
i'm a white collar worker and lead a pretty boring life.
I thought that kind of behavior was only for NYC apartment buildings (of which I am resident of) as the comedians and TV shows would like you to believe.
I guess it's no different than on the job with coworkers, some neighbors you like some you don't, some won't say a word some will, which is my experience working and at home.

Just looked up those scriptures - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Sounds like something they could use when asked why do they flip flop so much, notice the words "teaching, correcting and training in righteousness" that's what they THINK they are doing
or is it just me (again)?.
getting 'server not found' etc.
messages..
it's almost 1am and i can't sleep...again.
i hate to think the organization is still taking my sleep from me 16 years later but i can't help it.
i run a page on social media for ex jw support and advice and i'm usually there helping others but it definitely takes a toll on me when i'm having to argue and disprove jws that troll my page.
years ago, when i was studying with the witnesses, my bible studty conductor's sister in ohio died.
of cancer as i recall.
so he flew back to ohio ( from san diego ) to be with his family .
Navytown you ask if anyone else has heard a Dub make similar comments as to whether someone who died was a JW, where do I begin with how many instances I (and everyone else hear I'm sure) has heard that.
I'll share the Sept 11 story with you, a sister who used to be my hairdresser told me the next week after it happened when I had a appt with her, we started talking about the events of that day and she said "it's been confirmed that 8 JWs were in the Towers and lost their lives". Well, I don't know how accurate she was but, ummm, no sympathy for the other thousand of folks, just the blind followers of seven old guys in Brooklyn.
And yeah, one of the main reasons I don't go to her anymore is I couldn't take hearing her JW customers talking about how the JWs are such a busy people, and discussing who goes to this Cong now and who has talk coming up and all that !
