It's like the brother at the table in the restaurant with a bunch of other dubs, he has to give the longest prayer before the meal to prove how spiritual he is

Is it possible that someone who gives really gushing comments might still be awake?
by Isambard Crater inof the 50% of congregants who regularly participate, many of them give gushing answers about how appreciative they are, how wonderful jw.org is and so on, which makes me think nobody in my congregation is awake.
but maybe it's possible for someone who comes across as super spiritual to be awake?
i can't see how, though, as surely it's emotionally draining to fake it like that?

many try with the Ralph Kramden get rich quick schemes, but never pans out.
They've sold every product under the sun but that doesn't last very long, just how many cleaning products can one person buy when you invite the same crowd to the same "gathering" ? Even had some elders in my area start some kind of insurance company which turned out to be a scam, which resulted in coverage in the newspaper media here and they were DFd

Business Slow at JW Literature Trolley
by Athanasius inyesterday i stopped at a local shopping center to pick up a few things.
i arrived at 9:45 am and two jw ladies had already set up their literature trolley and had opened for business.
but i didn't see anyone stopping by and taking advantage of their free literature.

Title of the post, Business Slow at JW Literature Trolly, is like saying the sky is blue.
Tell us something we don't know.
They gave out 2 rags that day, that's probably the most they handed out in the last 12 months.

"Best life ever" ?????
by charity7 inis this a slogan that was recently come up with for jw's?
i've seen it used as a hashtag on instagram for jw's, key chains, cakes, about me biography description... the first thing i thought was, isn't that a little pretentious?
they complain so much about this life.

I was always amazed at all the problems these group of people had. I've never seen a religious group of people have so many issues with each other. i always thought, well that isn't Christian. And actually when I reflect on things, I've never been treated so poorly from some of "God's true people." I've never experienced a group of religious people with so many mental and health issues as the JW's
You nailed it exactly! Best life ever is what they try to convince themselves that they're leading, although inside their minds, well, read the part of your post that I quoted above. Cult like mentality, trying to believe it themselves and make others believe it.

Well, well, look who made one of her surprise visits again !!
I like pig tails too, along with every other part of the pig.
I'm glad the Japanese invented Sushi, love it, especially sea urchin or uni is the Japanese name, it's an acquired taste and it's delicious.

Have you been featured in a Watchtower publication or on jw.org?
by George One Time inmaybe you were considered a good example or a picture was needed.. can you give some background of the procedure?
how about the vetting?
if you cannot give away your identity, that is fine.

About ten years ago Sister's teenage daughter was included in one of the pics in the Watchtower, so I guess the Elders in the congregations pass the word about certain families that appear steadfast for da troof. I wonder though, since the mom in this family told me back then they were getting HBO for free without paying TimeWarner and she used to run a su-su , that's like the pyramid scheme where folks put in money every week and one person gets paid off, I just wonder if they shared that secret with the Elders, or maybe the person that recommended their daughter was in on the cable and money scheme as well ?

Was looking at my childhood book "From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained" I found something interesting.
by Still Totally ADD ini was showing a friend of mine what kind of books my parents allowed me to read when i was very young.
no children books that was age related but the so called orange paradise book was my only children book i had.
she was taken back on how violent it was and showing little kids being killed by god was just unspeakable.

greenhornet - I remember that picture so well, as well as the others that predict doom and gloom, great pictures to plant in the memory of children's heads.

So JW's are not allowed to vote because.... "no part of this world." Ok then explain why the WTBTS lobbied politicians on numerous
by kpop insorry if this was posted before but if it was then it is worth repeating and discussing.
the hypocrisy of the jw cult knows no bounds.
supposedly, the reason jw's are not allowed to vote is because they must not be a part of this world.

Somebody posted here quite some time ago a quote in the Awake magazine that said JWs could vote, he gave the exact page in the bound volume for Awake, it was either 1961 or 1963. Anyone here know of that quote in the mag? I showed it to my mom and she gave one of those round about confused Dub answered when faced with such evidence in their own publications.
