A young lady who used to be Orthodox recently wrote a book and had a big write up in the NYPost, there were quite a few thngs she wrote about that are so similar to the Dubs regarding shunning and some other of their rules as well. Also, when Oprah did a show on Orthodox women taped in Brooklyn, a few of things they mentioned set off a familiar bell in my head as well.

Pioneers and Their Way of Counting "Time"
by Eiben Scrood inin the congregations in my area there was an expression to the effect that 'there's counting time and then there's the way pioneers count their time'.
the watchtower's guidelines were pretty strict on when time could be counted.
some pioneers followed it and others didn't.. on particularly motivated young man comes to mind, he would work full-time or close to it and pioneer.

Any of you former piosneers here ever use the "robocall plan"during your pioneering years?
My friends sister in law does that, just like those annoying calls, it's a recorded message but she fills in the appropriate name for every call. How does that work? She reads the phone book onto her own recorded message or something? So liket he phone company used to say she let her fingers do the walking thru the phone book instead of knocking on doors.

Forgot to mention that the joke is if you know of some folks who are visiting NYC, tell them that we've got quite a few well known steak houses here, but there first stop for the best steak ever should be a place called Tad's Steak House, they've got quite a few locations in the city !

I remember when Game Show Network used to show reruns of "To Tell the Truth", he was one of the impostors. I think this particular show was from the early 60's but I remember him saying that he was a teacher. Not a profession you would think "Goober" was capable of ! !

she knows the neighborhood pretty good and we already traded some pics, but i have the feeling that she is a scam artist.
she only send me half of her face(nice mouth and teeth but not her nose, eyes, hair) and a very nice body.

If they start annoying you with questions as to why, just tell them to mind their f*ing business, you owe them no explanation. It's your life.
