What percentage of the population are gay?
More than you (or anyone) will ever know.
during the long debate on the question of gay marriage, there have been many competing answers to the question of, "how many people are gay?".
a very anti-gay christian minister in sydney, the reverend fred nile, (who is also a member of the state parliament) claims that the percentage is as low as 1%.. some university (u.of new south wales) research in sydney has suggested 5%, but the authors of the study cautioned that there was a problem in the fact that an unknown number of respondents would likely not admit to being gay.. there are other problems in asking the question.
for example, what does being gay mean?
What percentage of the population are gay?

so i went out today with my broken leg and got accosted by an old lady, with some magazines.. it was my first ever encounter with a jw in ten years, and i had said 'i know you are jw's, i'm not interested thank you.
" twice.....then she started talking about my broken leg and how wonderful we are made and how amazing the healing process is.... and that's when it all started...."i used to be a bethelite pioneer, now i'm an atheist doctor...".
she was with me a good 30 mins, her elder husband left very annoyed but she stayed, and she was dying to hear everything i spurted out, despite aggressively defending every point, from military engines to paedophilia.
Umbertoecho - That tells you something right there if you mention one of their publications and you're told it's no longer relevant. I would've said to that elder, "the Bible hasn't changed, right", to which he would've obviously agreed, then I would've said so how does a publication from the religion that claims to be the only true religion on earth become no longer relevant? There's no way you would've gotten a straight answer to that.
Matter of fact, I'm going to use that the next time I feel like messing with those folks with the carts in he subway station.
this phrase i heard again at the weekend when a diehard dub was discussing his non believing, but much loved son.
"it is just that..... [insert any excuse here].
it is something that they all say about us, yet nothing could be further from the truth.
every second our watch ticks, thats frequency of our current time.
the frequency will hit our reality every 1 second.. same method for rainbow frequency.. this is where i need your scientists.
need confirmation of change on fact of time.. and this... is truth of jehovah.... under sugar water, blue light will appear on left side.. under salt water, red light will appear on right side.. this concept is same for our heart.

am i the only one who has single, desperate sisters in the congregation?
they tend to be holier-than-thou, frumpty, but in private talk about getting married.
but they don't understand why no brother will look at them.
All Congregations have the desperate single sisters. Funny thing to me is the ones I remember from my Cong when I was growing up, we are now in the 50-60 age range. THe ones that got married early 19-21, some are divorced, some married again, just a few are still married to their mates. But the ones who are still single, I wonder if they're still saying "I"m wating for the new system to find my husband", A man is a man new system are not, nobody would marry these old frumps in a paradise setting anyway.

it came today, the dreaded envelope containing my personal copy of "return to jehovah" from my elderly, desperate mother.
it included a small note asking me to read it over and to let her know what i think.
she got it at her assembly.. firstly, i'm angry that she continues to push her religion on me, given that i stopped attending meetings over thirty years ago, and very offended that she assumes that i still want to be a witness, which is her choice of religion, not mine.
My mother used to send letters all the time. I told her I just tear them up and throw them away and to stop wasting your time because I don't read them.
i posted two years ago with the same subject.
every two years i receive a summons.
for jury duty.
Every two years? Here in NYC they call you every six. That's why I saved the form they sent me the last time to make sure they don't call me before my six years are up.
BTW, I was told that by someone who works with dept that handles Jury Duty, so that's not just hearsay if anyone from NYC doesn't believe the six year rule.
god's view of gays and lesbians.
why should anyone care what i have to say on this topic?
i am not a priest.
Point blank, the Bible is against homosexuality. as the scriptures quoted in previous posts point out.
That's why I have a hard time figuring out what is in the mindset of those who are gay who have been ordained in the Methodist, Espocopalian and the other churches when the Bible clearly states its feeling on homosexuality. How do you take a vow to carry on the word of the Lord with those scriptures condemning homosexuality.
