The Story of Minimus
by minimus inwhen i was a teen, i aspired to be an elder.
from my pre-teens until i was 18, i was in every circuit assembly and district convention----having either ministry school talks or parts or experiences.
at 20, i conducted a bookstudy in the afternoon, also regular pioneered, was the theocratic ministry school overseer in the 2nd school and regularly taught the main school.

In my part of the UK, the police liaise with the fire brigade (who usually end up cutting casualties out of wrecks and clearing the site) to run education days for repeat offenders - drink-drivers or 'joy'riders. They will show them actual footage of fatal crash scenes where drink or high speed has been involved, sometimes followed by a filmed interview with the surviving relatives/victims families (who will have given permission for the crash footage to be used of course) and try drum the message home that 'this could be you next'. They then couple this with re-education on safe driving.
Of course there are still some who won't get the message whatever you do
This is a good idea along with the pm i received . This in the UK was one idea we thought of trying by bringing pics and movies to local schools and showing teens what the real world is like, and to see what really happens to a person in an impact, or taking them to local Morgues as Mary has said . We just have to get parents to agree on whatever we decide to do and hope we have enough barf bags for all the kids ..lol

We have had the same problem in the surrounding area and lately the Big thrill is to try to fly through a stop sign as fast as you can to see if you can beat the on coming traffic, and yes someone loses. 9 out of 10 times their is drinking involved .
We have also lost alot of teens lately from drinking and driving combined with speed . All of the calls have ended with the car hitting trees and there are no survivors.
Which brings up something you may all be able to help with, my First responder Supervisor wants us in the Fire department ,to think of something to help get through to teens the reality of what really will and can happen ,that they are not invincible and take it to area schools and try to help teens understand how serious this is.
How can we show teens and really make an impact on them to think before they pay the ultimate price.
Any ideas would be appreciated

MOUTHY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS AND/OR SUPPORT
by Mary inour dear mouthy is really having a tough time right now and needs our support and/or prayers.
as some of you may know, she's already lost 3 of her children in death and the other one to the borg.
in the last couple of days, she's had to worry about her 2 year old great-granddaughter being in the hospital with an illness and yesterday, her daughter had a suspicious mole removed from her back and was told there is a lump in her breast which has to be biopsied.

Punishment
by Sasha ini believe i get punished or at least compensated for certain things.
for example, it seems any reward from god to me is followed by a punishment of some sort.
(ie: i finally get the disability i've been fighting for for 4 years and finnaly get it and my 6 year cat died) stuff like that...

Sorry about your cat but congrats on you getting disability It does seem sometimes you are rewarded then punished for the good things that happen in life.

Inspected a jw's car saw nwt and did some witnessing to him
by hambeak ina young man came in for his state vehicle inspection today and i noticed a nwt on the seat.
i asked him if he was a jw and replied yes.
he then asked if i was and replied i used to be but now am a full fledged apostate.
