No, not for just a publisher. If one pioneers, that requires more hours, but just an active publisher only needs to put in an hour or two a month to stay on the active list but usually, a couple of hours a week is all that's required to "look good". I haven't been active in years, so I'm sure others on this forum will explain the current requirements better, but I don't think they've changed much since I was an active publisher.

Wouldn't he have plenty of time on weekends? 8 to 5 Mon. - Fri. is a pretty common work week. Leaves evenings and nights for meetings and Bible studies and weekends for field service and return visits. Doesn't sound to me like you have any reason to be getting your hopes up for this reason. Just my observation....don't mean to bust your bubble.

Where does the WT Society get all of its money?
by Threestars ini was always taught that they were so frugal and even poor, just scraping by with neccessities back in brooklyn and at the farm, and in our congs they always harped at everyone to put more in the box since they couldn't make the hall payment or the utilities, etc.. now i am hearing that they are quite well off.
is this mostly from wealthy dubs leaving money to the borg in their wills, or, rich ones donating, (for instance prince or the williams sisters)?.
just curious..

Yes, Threestars, that's the impression they gave their rank and file. But, the information highway has exposed them for what they are: wealthy, manipulative, corporate real-estate moguls, and so much more.

Will there be a watchtower article discussing all the issues involved?
They'll probably make it sound like they need money and give some b*llsh*t reason that the R&F will swallow. Then more and more of the poor brainwashed sheople will fork over their hard-earned $$ and will their entire life savings and property to the
families of the governing bodyorganization. It just makes me sick. -

Getting cut out of Mom and Dad's will
by journey-on inhave any of you experienced this yet....being cut out of your jw mom and dad's will?
i posted the following on another thread.
because of one instance that i heard about last year from a friend of mine, i am concerned that this may be something the society is encouraging and may encourage even more as the new private issue of the wt begins to be released.

The house didn't get sold, but was turned over to a special pioneer couple, but stayed in the WTS's name. Since then the property value has doubled and I just did a check and the WTS still owns it,
That's just obsene!!! HOW MUCH OF THIS KIND OF CRAP GOES ON?
This is what I am trying to forewarn people about (not that I'm any kind of seer or anything). It's just that there is probably more of this kind of thing going on than we can imagine.
It's the natural thing to leave your monetary achievements to the next generation. It builds family wealth and helps the next generation coming up: grandchildren's college, assistance in buying that first home, investing in a business, etc. etc. etc. Leaving it to the g*ddam*** WTB&T$ just makes me see red.
Sure, it's a person's right to do with their money and property whatever they want. But, it just chaps my a**s that the WTS has made it easy by encouraging and writing about just how these old-timers (and others, too) can will or donate their life savings and property to them. My God! They even have a DEPARTMENT set up to assist!!!! And I'll bet with the private issues of the WT, more and more of this kind of "encouragement" will be spouted.
I think it is a form of psychological manipulation and downright brainwashing. They twist and corrupt scripture and slowly, methodically, and deliberately MESS WITH PEOPLE'S MINDS. I just think for those that may be negatively impacted by this, they should try to legally prove that the person was not of sound mind based on years and years and years of slow indoctrination by a cult that calls itself a religion.

I Need A Comeback Statement
by journey-on inwhen i suggested to my jw sister that the wts has caused so much pain and division in our family, she told me it was because my brothers and i had made the choice to leave.
we were responsible for the division---not the society.
we are the ones that chose to leave the love and protective shelter of jehovah's organization and we are the ones that have the choice to return to the fold.. i need an intelligent comeback, preferably one that will plant a seed, not one too sarcastic.

My favorite is a Mexican breakfast: Eggs over medium with picante sauce....sliced potatoes fried slowly till done in just a touch of salsa....bacon or ham (I don't like sausage)....quacamole and refried beans with grated cheddar on top...flour tortillas....and a Tecate beer with lime. It really gets the day started. Gotta have my coffee, too. Yummy!
