when i was on the borg certain sisters would rush into marriage because their "biological clock was ticking.
basically they wanted to have children and if they were already in their late twenties or early thirties marrying the first "brother" who asked seemed like the way to go.. i was wondering do men have a "biological clock?
specifically if you are a man with no children, will you ever reach a certain age that would cause you to worry that your "clock is ticking" to become a biological dad?
When I turned 40 I heard my clock ticking for the first time. I thought very hard about having a child and decided against it. All the reasons I wanted to have a child were selfish reasons. And after much thought I realized that I am way too selfish to be a good parent. Does that make any sense?
My brother just turned 50 this year and has 6 kids ranging in age form 1 - 15. He wants to have more too!

since i left.... so there i was, a disabled single dad bereft of all he had known or believed for 30 years.. i had moved a good 45 minutes away from the area where the events in my introductory post went down, but was now living in an area where i had resided some ten years earlier and still had a few stale connections with the organization.. i was lonely, depressed, pissed off, and really disgusted with the god i had been shown in my years of unfruitful association.. in my mind, he had made me the way i am, which apparently entailed being unable to meet his 'righteous requirements', and was going to kill me for it.
he had endowed all of us with a natural human nature (apart from our fallen sinful nature,) and now expected us to conquer our every natural impulse or desire, even the healthy ones, to survive the big a.. hold off on marriage or kids, no college, no success, no normalcy... the big a'll get ya if ya don't watch out!.
so i railed against him, defied him to just take me, do anything to show he even existed or had any power at all.. i went around saying 'god is an a$$h*le' and the like, but then i realized something that shook my world..... i was just as much a witness outside the organization as i had been inside!.

I gradually came to realize that I did not know God, and never had; but I realized I wanted to very badly.
I was like this for 30+ years. I never researched the borg or anything. 
I was just waiting to die at armegeddon. Then I found JWD and recently have begun reading the bible for the first time. I can't say what if anything I believe but, I will eventually reach a conclusion as to whether or not I even believe there is a god. I want to believe in him, but he's not making it easy. Thanks again for sharing here.

what are your opinions?.
it seems that alot of jw's are into this.. i think there is a time and place for this, ie if you don't have access to a public/private school.. it doesn't seem regulated to me.
my mother home schooled my sister because she couldn't be bothered taking and picking her up from school.
My SIL "home schools" her kids, all 6 of them. My oldest nephew is going to be 16 this year. I am very concerned about his progress and sometimes I throw out little "tests". The other day I asked him what 36 / 3 is and he did not know. Also, these kids are isolated on a farm and I worry about thier socialization skills. They do belong to 4-H and some other stuff but imo, it's not enough.
Once, my SIL handed me a shopping list and most of the words were mis-spelled. Now, I'm not a great speller but I'm not attempting to home school anyone. I do not know how or what she's teaching them, there is very little supervision from the outside.
I do not agree with my brother's decision to let my SIL home school thier kids but it is none of my business, really. They have to raise thier children the way THEY see fit. I know when to keep my mouth shut (most of the time).

watching coverage of the va tech shooting, and thinking about how people who feel powerless and taken advantage of, can plan and carry out such a crime, i wonder when someone will break under the pressures put on by wt and tragically committ one of these at a kingdom hall.
there are probably people who under the right mix of circumstances, mental illness and opportunity, are capable of doing this in the jw cult.
any thoughts?.

Well, I don't know you and sorry to bring it up but, I did see your picture once and I would give your body a 10 1/2!
Also, the way you can remember scriptures off the top of your head has to bring your intelligence up to around a 9.
