by Mincan inso i've been seeing this jw girl for a couple weeks now... she kind of contacted me out of the blue (i've known her since i was 4, shes two years older than i) and wanted to hook up for coffee or something.
i avoided it for about half a month.
not really avoided it, but was going to have fun with it when it came, because i thought she was just going to try to encourage me to go to meetings and whatnot.. so, first time she calls me up at like 9:30pm on a weeknight to come over to her house... so i ride my bicycle over and go inside and she and her cousin were getting drunk on alcohol and they started getting me to drink.

by Bobbi ina couple of weeks ago i went on a school trip with my sons school.
it was held in an sports arena.
while sitting there looking at all the kids filing in and filling up the seats, my mind went to all the conventions i attended in similar venues.

Why do you put up with crap off your JW famlies?
by dawg ini see where many of you have jw family members that give you a ration of crap once in a while; i've heard many rationalizations as to why some of you refuse to speak out.
as many of you know, i wrote a series of letters and exposed my apostasy formerly; in the letters i told my family they had better beware of shunning me of treating me like a pile when they run into me, i realized that i couldn't make them accept me into their houses, but in public was a different matter.
i basically told them that in public, especially at funerals, that i would rain down a load of crap on any family member that shunned me or treated me badly in anyway.

I could never pull the rug out from under my mom. Believe me I've thought about it. She'll be 77 this year. I put up with the shunning because really, I have nothing better to offer her. Just love. She doesn't see it that way.
What is pissing me off is that she is so intelligent and I can't believe she's swallowing the current WT$ drivel I've been reading about here. If she don't wake up now, she never will. I won't force it.
I so hear you and all but the bottom line is everyone's situation is different. There is no right or wrong way.

by Farkel inhow far we've come in just the last ten years.. just ten short years ago, the term jw "apostate" still carried a stigma of held-over shame to most ex-jws and they rarely called themselves by that term.
i wore that badge proudly, but i had already been out of the wts for over 20 years by then.
slowly, but steadily the term went from shame to neutral to a badge of honor!
