Commemorating the 2014 Centenary

for all the philatelists among us, i sure hope the brooklyn-based world government-in-waiting is preparing a commemorative stamp issue to honor the imminent centernary of our lord's presence.

maybe one stamp for each of the detainees in atlanta, capped off by a high-value airmail stamp depicting the rapture that never was?

seriously, how many of you folks out there collect stamps?

i am really appreciative of the work done by many here related to the un hot-topic, for those who contacted the un and those brave enough to approach the wts directly too.

i have printed my copy of the letter and have saved an image for use this weekend.. heres another thought on the un thing.

during the last couple of weeks i have checked the watchtower main web-site and the media site for references for the un.

Suggestion for GB to deal with current situation

the current world situation and the wt dealings with the un result in some bigger problems the wt leadership has to solve.. firstly, the war.

an event as big as the attack on the wtc so that people say this has been an historic event comparable to the events of 1914: if this has not been prophecied in the scriptures what should be expected to be?

the wt's only chance is an application of the "pushing" between the king of the south and the king of the north.

When you think about it, the WT timing in leaving the UN NGO couldn't be timed more poorly. When religions around the world are trying to come together to stand against terrorism, they leave the non govermental list. I think this will make them look bad, even though they really should have never joined to begin with if they truly followed what they teach.

I think the WT will spin it like this:"Never fearing what goverments think of us, Jehovah's Witnesses have once again taken a stand that we are no part of the world, even when christedom is rallying around the UN...blah, blah, blah, blah..."

It will stir the pot a wee bit, just what they want. I remember the term fair weather christians...you know, the ones that went to meetings only when life was good for them. However, it has been my experience that there are a lot more Crisis Christians out there...ones that flock to the hall when it seems that maybe the great tribulation really is here. I can hear it now from the JWs who may have been around for a while, "see, we are being persecuted in the press because we are no part of the world...we really are the TRUE religion!"

I honestly have never been able to find anything negative about the United Nations at the site. I truly appreciate the link you posted here. When I have entered United Nations into a search it always lists articles that contain quotes or statistical information provided by the UN.

Can I ask you what search keywords you are using? Or were you able to find this only because you knew what to look for? I did type in the League of Nations, and the article you pointed out did come up.

Thanks again for the link, and pointing out my error. I guess my error was thinking of looking for the obvious keywords.

i just read the post regarding sundays' special meetings.

i have a question & some statistics....... it has been along times since i was a member of the jw's, so please, to refresh my memory - what was their understanding of this prophecy?

was america king of south (if i remember rightly) & russia king of north?

If they did it like Nascar races, you could not only bring your own food, but your own booze too....and they have people to clean up!!

I find it interesting that there are so many 'secrets' in the bible. If God really cared for all people and really wanted them to be saved, etc., he would not make it so difficult to understand him. Instead, the WTS set things up like it is a secret club. Jesus spoke simply and to the point. Too bad the WTS is not capable of following suit.

Why don't they just break it up into various divisions, like the NFL? Then various countries can duke it out...and have a evil govermental empire superbowl.

If the WT markets it properly they can make a ton of money with those big #1 foam fingers alone.

Nothing negative they have ever said about the United Nations can be found at their site. It is so unbelievable! I guess you have to actually have the WT CD to find anything, or look manually through the books.

anyway, its a small town we affectionatly nick named fredneck and so there are many bible-thumpers..i received a series of llittle comic book pamphlets that i loved!

When I was a waitress in high school, a few local holy rollers would leave these little comic books instead of a tip.

Next Guardian Article Saturday?

just got this email from stephen bates:.

"i think another article will be going in the guardian tomorrow (ie saturday's.

paper...) so long as the war doesn't take up all the space.....".

I emailed The Boston Globe and asked if they could verify the info with the UN so a paper in the United States could cover it also. Since so many witnesses do not utilize the internet, I think it would be a good idea if we could contact some major US newspapers to also verify it. Who knows if they will, with everything else that is going on in the world. But again, it would be sad to see this major WT development get swept under the rug.
